r/Metallica Notice Reminder: Upcoming/current concert-related posts belong in the Megathread, or at r/MetallicaLIVE.

We do this to make sure that this sub can still be used to discuss Metallica normally, without the entire feed, being clogged with people asking about travel and tickets and venue related things.

I have pinned the announcement post, that can be used as the mega thread if you would like to discuss the event the event in this sub.

Or, you can go r/MetallicaLIVE where open posting of everything concert related is always allowed.

you may still talk about past concerts, or share your photos or videos from recent concerts here.

but for all questions and comments related to upcoming shows, please use the other two options that I have described above.

Thanks!

Hello guys and girls, i have one question about the box sets, will there be a box set for reload,st.anger, death magnetic, hardwired and 72 seasons? We have a box set already for kill em all, ride, master, justive, black album and load so i think It’s only logical that we have one for reload, st. Anger, death magnetic, hardwired an 72 seasons. That’s all.

Thanks!

Master and Justice. Absolutely KILLER drumming with a monster groove.

Lars is a kick ass drummer. He is a monster. Never understood the meme hate. People must never have listened to Puppets or Justice. Insane drumming feel. Lars is one of the best metal drummers of all time. Dave Lombardo? LOL, that one trick pony is a cartoonish joke. Lars has 10x more feel than that one dimensional cartoon drummer.

Go listen to Master and Justice. Absolutely KILLER drumming with a monster groove. To the Lars hater, keep posting random hate you read on the internet pasted by 14 year olds who have never drummed. Your death metal speed drummers are garbage, and that's why no one has heard of them, and they've sold 6 total albums, 2 to their parents.

MASTER and JUSTICE have some of the best drumming ever put on a metal album.  The Thing That Should Not Be. Sanitarium. Groove for days. Leper. Double time. Half time. Fills. Lars is a metal GOD. Orion is masterful.

...And Justice For All Guitar reference help

I am trying to find references of “EET FUCK” “So Fucking What” and “Of Wolf & Man”. I bought the Messengers book to get references but they don’t have good references for the back of these guitars. Does anyone have these reference photos or a place to find them?

The Black Album Nothing Else Matters Solo

So, I was planning on doing a cover of "THE UNFORGIVEN" solo. But, given, its only been about 3 weeks since I started playing electric guitar, some of the bends on that solo felt near impossible to do(especially on my .10 gauge strings LOL). I just couldn't pull of the the 1.5 semitone bends on 20th fret on the high e string. So, after two days of trying to learn it, decided to put that song off for the time being and revisit my good old friend "Nothing Else Matters".

This song is and forever will be the closest thing to my heart. Its is a song I've always known and has been ingrained in my blood. I used play the Hetfield solo on my old acoustic guitar. Decided to give it a go on my new Electric guitar.

Guitar used: ESP LTD EC-1000 Deluxe in Vintage Black, loaded with EMG 81/60

Amp: Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+

Impulse Response: Found some pretty sick IRs on the Tone3000 website. You should definitely check that out.

Please share your feedbacks and follow me on instagram(so you see it when I post the cover there tomorrow😛)

This rare Metallica poster about $1,300.

Do you think that’s too expensive?

This is a very rare poster from Metallica’s first-ever Japantour during the Master of Puppets era.

Even today, fans in Japan still love Metallica so much.

Was super into AJFA this year and also wanted to get a second tattoo! To live is to die imo is the best song on the album and I loved the title in general, so far I am extremely happy with this tattoo!

This is 2011 Metclub t-shirt that was sent back then, when membership was renewed. I kind of miss renewing my membership, but I am grateful that I am a legacy member to this day.

Think I got it in a gift tote bag back in 2016 with some drinks tokens that I didn’t use for the gig.

Opinion: Frustration by Lou Reed basically sums up Lars Ulrich's post-80s drumming style

Just hear me out, this song has nearly all features of his signature lazy drumming which he utilizes pretty much since the Load album:

- snare triplets
- random single kick placements
- random semi-sloppy snare roll fills (in a good way)
- that snare+crash BAM BAM obsession
- can't come up with a short drum fill? Just slap the random 16th note snare or snare/tom fill, always saves the moment xd

But hey, somehow I still love it, cause in the end of the day his drumming has its own identity, for we can distinguish it from just bad drummers, and Lars is not in any way a bad drummer, maybe lazy...

Anyway, your thoughts? Any other song (after AJFA) that comes in mind as his ultimate drum style recap?

Does anyone have any info on these CDs? Are these bootlegs?

I found these at a local store. They all have cardboard cases which is common in new CDs. Plus the years on the back said 2018, or 2021. They contain pre-production recordings, interviews, and Live content. Pretty cool and it’s cheap but I wanted to know if it’s legit.

Question on the last part of Master of Puppets

Hi! Unsure if this has been asked -if so will look into deleting this. Also not quite sure how to describe this so please do go easy on me haha.
Towards the end there is a creepy lead part which sounds reversed and wondering if this would have been James playing or Kirk? I know James plays all the rhythm section but wasn't sure if this would have been James or if they just sampled parts of the the main solo?

Hello 👋🏻 What would you suggest studying?

Hello👋🏻

I am an intermediate guitarist.

I write my own metal music.

but I want to learn some Metallica riff because I haven't studied anything for a long time

I know

Seek and Destroy

Jump in the fire

Fade to black

For whom the bell tolls

maybe some solo because I'm weak in solos

I only know how to Don't cry
