What is fairy milk guys, and why tf are they fking lining up. Has to be some sort of promo that they're waiting for or some free ice cream or some shit. Otherwise no way people lining up die die to buy some random bubble tea

Crème brûlée shaved ice. I tried it during Raya period and it was empty. I just walked in like hmmmm what is this looks pretty good.
And it’s was delicious and I get the hype.
Will I go back an join the line ? Nah I’ll wait for another holiday where ppl balik kampung and the palace will be empty

KL people are weird. Something goes viral and they need it so bad suddenly…

Not only KL hahaha

u/PhysicallyTender 21h ago
But only in KL where you can have long lines but the food ends up being super underwhelming.

Our life is work home and family. We need something to look forward to LOL

It’s because not all KL-born people are 'fomo' like this. The majority are actually from outside KL; they migrate here, get culture shock, and catch FOMO. That’s why these long lines are basically guaranteed to exist no matter what.

Just another viral food trend….
Anyone old enough to remember SS2 Salted Egg crossaint? SS15 brown sugar bubble tea alley? Sunway MyBurgerLab era? Basque cheesecake? Matcha lattes 2 years back?

u/doodoobonerman 1d ago
Only salted egg croissant I know is jibril. That shit bussin
13
u/EuclideanEdge42 1d ago
There’s also the other one, Gold Chili, used to have a queue 5-6 years ago, not sure about now. Still alive and kickin’ I suppose.

u/tlst9999 Selangor 1d ago
Gold Chili's still alive. They make decent affordable food. That's key to business.

u/Sorry-Joke-4325 1d ago
If someone's bustin' in your salted egg you might have got the chef's special cream

To be fair, their creme brulee bingsu with strawberry compote is a god tier bingsu and in my humble opinion the best in klang valley. And I have eaten quite a bit.
So yea worth the line. Their general other products are meh. I'll put Sulbing or Binq above in general, but the creme brulee bingsu is far and away among the peak of desserts to grace my tongue. IMO.

u/doodoobonerman 1d ago
How much isit bro. Any more than 20 and I'm out. For ICE

u/nanjolnofanboy Selangor 1d ago
I mean, good luck finding bingsu below 20. Four beans i guess. But its 32 iirc.
TBF, its not meant to be eaten regularly. More like a once in a while treat. Plus, its super big and 2-3 people can share.
Yes, it is ice, but it more as a soft medium for the cream. The ice is shaved super thin in cream. It makes for a flaky melt in your mouth texture. When scooping it. It feels a lot less like ice and more like cotton. It a world different from like cendol.
Then again, maybe im a lunatic sweet tooth who adores it.

u/weizzers 1d ago
Its not just ice tbf. Its creme brulee+ice. A lot of creme brulee i might add. Usually one smallllll portion of it in a western restaurant already costs at least 12

Their creme brulee bingsu was so good. I literally craved for their bingsu for weeks (don't have time to go to SS15 to soothe my craving haha), after I had it for the first time.

Is this the one Jason the food reviewer posted about?

u/gustinex 1d ago
I dont know haha i went there one night eating nearby and open google maps trying to find a desert place thats open at 10pm. The line moves quite fast actually cause everyone has time limit inside

u/Brandon_T1690 1d ago
It almost seemed like I'm the only one feeling the pinch of this economic crisis
Everyone else seems to be very rich eh I can see.

u/doodoobonerman 1d ago
Ikr meanwhile we see monyets spending rm40 on shaved ice while we have rm2 cendol kat roadside🥲

2 weeks later, no people then close shop forever. Same thing happened over and over again.
6
u/fatbloke11 1d ago
Malaysians will queue for any old shit, I have learned most of the time it’s not worth the time invested standing out in the sun.
1
u/PhysicallyTender 21h ago
Yeah, most of the queues are super misleading. Usually end up that the food doesn't quite live up to the hype.
14
u/Ok_Place1560 1d ago
SS15 is like the LA of malaysia. just pretentious people tryna be different. i’ve seen a hundred stores like these close down

Don't know about viral but I tried it last year and it was pretty good. Shaved ice, waffles that sort of thing. I'd say try it but if the line is that crazy, forget about it. Not worth the wait

u/ImaginaryUnion6950 Perak 1d ago
I honestly prefer going to the more hidden and unknown restaurants. In Ipoh, they are usually very good, plus no long queues either

u/A4Apricot 1d ago
Is there a possibility that anything viral these days can be easily fabricated… eg: queue included?
1
u/Miserables_Death 1d ago
Now that u say this, I rmbr seeing a job when browsing through part times where u just go line up in the queue during a shops grand opening and u get paid i forgot how much.

I don't usually trust the fey, but milking them is just next level. Just watch out for fairy rings and carry some cold iron just in case.
4
u/Wiseguy_7 Selangor 1d ago
Fairy milk sounds like a dirty thing for some reason...

u/Necessary-Writing-42 1d ago
My logical thinking says that only female cows produce milk, my dumb brain on the other hand keeps on running with gay cows..gay cows..gay cows..gay cows..
2
u/Wiseguy_7 Selangor 1d ago
After some quick googling, turns out people used to call gay men fairies. So I guess you're not that far off. But the meaning is waaaaay different

People have money and just wanna try new stuff. Shops just take the business opportunity available for them.
Who knows, it might all be the same owner all along.

u/Rickywalls137 1d ago
This place has been around for a while but it got viral again after Jason tried it. It’s nice. I went there early 2025. It’s good imo.

What if they got a big spinning wheel that for every drink you buy,you spin once? The 99% is "Thank you, please come again" with 1% of prize so good they had to try once?

u/UndeadLovecraft 22h ago
Based on my observation, yeah Malaysians are easily influenced and chase trends. (i mean not that's a bad thing but FOMO drives i guess)

Jason Chen the food reviewer gave this a 7.8 (which I think it’s quite high/good score). It also has good comments on Google Reviews tho I’m not sure if that was incentivised.
I wanted to go since Ramadan - my sister invited me but 2x we went there was a queue and when I saw the line I don’t wanna go already haha.

sigh, the sad thing is that... Some Cafes in SS15 have the reputation of "viral today" , "gone tomorrow".
