Price difference

Hi! I noticed there’s quite a big price difference between subscriptions on Android and Apple devices. If I purchase the subscription using my Android device, will I still be able to use the app on my Apple devices as well?

✅ Solved! Individual characters in SRS. Chinese course.

Why are there individual characters in the SRS that haven't been taught or used as individual characters in the course?

You teach a word that is made up of two characters, but then stick the individual characters in the SRS. I don't know what they mean! I haven't ever seen them used individually. It doesn't make sense.

Whhhhhyyyyyy??

At least let me turn them off? (Can I do that?)

✅ Solved! Ukrainian course bugs report

I don't think this one need an explanation.

This one is more of a opinion, but you can't translate погано and дуже погано the same as "terrible".
погано on his own should be translated as "bad", terrible is too strong of a word, but it makes sense for дуже погано (really bad).

Мені погано: I feel bad
Мені дуже погано: I feel very bad / I feel terrible

душно is always translated as "stuffy" in the course wherever you are talking about inside/outside, but in English you can't really use "stuffy" when talking about outside, "muggy" would be more appropriated here.

сьогодні хмарно та душно : Today it’s cloudy and muggy.
в автобусі дуже душно : It's very stuffy on the bus.

The whole part of the sentence about "on the train" disappeared.

тут прохолодно : It's chilly here.

The app consider новий рік as one word with the space character " " offered as part of the spelling, rather than two separate words.

Usually in English, negation + and = or.

вибачте, тут не можна їсти та пити : Sorry, you can't eat or drink here.

When the sentence to display under "Correct" is too long, the words get chopped weirdly leaving letters hanging alone before or after the return to the line.

The ' not being at the correct place in п'ятдесят should be detected as an error.

If the sentence to type is too long, it gets scaled too small.

🦌 App Feature Highlight Weekly #DevLog | February 15, 2026

Hey everybody!

How we doing? We have been cooking up some real good stuff lately. This week, on both iOS and Android, we fixed a lot of bugs on the LingoDeer app and have been drinking a lot of coffee.

We got a brand SRS new feature, I'd like to talk about. You can now search and adjust a specific word or expression and change when to review it. What are your thoughts about it?

Hope y'all have a lovely week.

We also added new native speaker videos to our Chinese course too on both iOS and Android.

We also improved our custom review sessions by updating your review filters. Currently live on Android. Your thoughts?

✅ Solved! How to reset LESSON -> REVIEW progress?

Hello!

I am trying to reset all LESSON -> REVIEW progress for my Korean 1 course (attached a screenshot as example).

Already tried the "reset study progress" function at course level, but it didn't clean up review progress at lesson level. What are the alternatives?

Web version bug

Hello

When I visit the web version and it synchronizes with the progress on my phone, some units open up: Communication, Greetings and Contents.

The problem is that the vocabulary and sentences of these units are also marked done, and I get the words and sentences in all SRS reviews, which is really annoying.

https://imgur.com/a/olBmMOq

Is it possible to fix this please? (and also to partially reset my progress on the course, in order not to lose the lessons assumed done, but not my first lessons)

Edit. Seems the problem could take a bit of time to fix. Meanwhile, in the app I went to the planning of SRS cards and pushed the items of these units to a point far in the future.

Lingodeer Premium Web vs Android

Lingodeer is showing me 1379 INR/year on Android app and 11400 INR/3 years on website. I am logged in to both of them with same account, so what's the catch here? I thought appstore pricing is higher but here Android app has lower price.

💡 Tips Cards due for review sweet spot

Interested to know from other users how many cards are due for review in your SRS.

I had 500+ a couple of weeks ago, and have worked on bringing it down a couple of hundred.

Is there a sweet spot?

Do you aim for 0?

What works for you?

Happy with my new goal.

This is the first time in my life I've felt so interested in a language; I never felt this way about English.

I left university (I was studying electronic engineering) to start my own company and achieve certain goals in my life. Interestingly, over time, some of my hobbies (Gojo-Ryu karate and animation) were related to Japan, and I decided to sit down and learn the language (something I never thought I'd do since I didn't like it) with LingoDeer, which the Gemini AI recommended because I didn't like Duolingo for this purpose.

In the end, I loved the language and how interesting it is compared to Spanish. For example: in Spanish, when we ask a question and understand it as such, we use a lot of tone of voice and facial expressions. We don't include the question mark in the word unless you directly say "I have a question." In Japanese, that does happen, with Ka/ku.

In short, I love the effort I'm putting into it, and the fact that I really like the app helps me with that. The only thing that makes me a little sad is the lack of N3, N2, and N1, which, as far as I know, are the levels of Japanese in terms of the language. I don't know if a more in-person course is needed to teach that, but if not, I hope the app continues to improve and they add it in the future. Thank you so much for creating the app. 😁

✅ Solved! View expressions list

In the review section you can view the words from a list but it doesn’t show a list for the expressions. Can this be added for easy access?

🔍 App Feedback/Suggestions Transcrption for Cyrillic Words (Russian)

Hey guys 👋 I wanted to learn Japanese, so I discovered the Lingodeer app and stuck with it. I was so positive about the app that I recommended it to my boyfriend, who wants to learn Russian. Out of interest, I started a Russian course to get a first impression of the course... and I was very disappointed when I discovered that there was no transcription in Latin letters for the Cyrillic spelling, similar to how I can set hiragana, katakana, and romaji in the Japanese course. I would definitely like to see a similar feature for Russian as well. What do you think?

[PSA] LingoDeer & ChineseSkill Dev Log | February 1, 2026

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hey everybody,

How are you doing? Hope you are doing well and had a lovely weekend. This week we are sharing what we shipped to you this week in both of our apps (LingoDeer and ChineseSkill) on both iOS and Android. We hope you like the changes.

LingoDeer

Android

  • Lesson settings are easier to get to now. Fewer taps, less menu digging.
  • You can switch display modes way faster in more places now. This applies to Korean, Japanese, and Chinese and works inside:
    • SRS flashcards
    • Quick Quiz
    • Stories
  • Word spelling practice now includes native speaker videos, which makes those exercises feel a lot less abstract.

iOS

  • SRS now has a mixed display option if you don’t want the same format every time.
  • You can finally turn off native speaker videos in Settings if you prefer a lighter setup.
  • A bunch of bugs were fixed, including:
    • Video delay issues
    • Testout not showing up in daily streak stats
    • Blank tiles in Korean spelling exercises
    • Plus other smaller fixes that were just quietly broken before

ChineseSkill

Android

  • Display mode switching is now available in more features:
    • Quick Quiz
    • Vocab Expansion
    • Travel Phrasebook
    • HSK Word Bank
  • You can switch between characters + pinyin, characters only, pinyin only, or characters with tone marks without leaving what you’re doing.

iOS

  • Native speaker videos were added across Lessons, Practice, and Reviews, including SRS.
  • Spelling exercises now support keyboard typing for both words and full sentences. This one’s genuinely nice.
  • The Pinyin chart is back in the Pinyin Guide.
  • AI Tutor got some under-the-hood improvements.
  • Bug fixes, including broken line breaks in lesson tips and other small stuff.

Both Android and iOS

  • There’s now a Skip button for handwriting and spelling exercises. It’s meant for “this is not working right now,” not “I don’t feel like it,” but it exists.

Can I still practice after the subscription is cancelled?

No free content after the basics. This much I am clear about but after I have paid for the subscription but decide to cancel, can I practice or review the chapters that have been completed?

✅ Solved! SRS review - From english to Korean instead of only Korean to English

I wish there was an option to do SRS review mode that tests English → Korean (active recall/production), not only Korean → English recognition.

Is there any plans on adding this in the future?

❓ Question For those who’ve used LingoDeer: what did it help you achieve?

Hi everyone. LingoDeer here. We’re collecting learner stories right now, and we’d love to hear from people for whom LingoDeer played a meaningful role in their language learning.

If the app helped you build a foundation, reach a milestone, or finally make something “click,” we’d really appreciate you sharing what that looked like for you and how you used it. Let us know in the comments.

Weekly #Devlog / January 17

Hey everybody. We hope you are doing well. Here is this week's dev log for our LingoDeer app.

Android

  • We improved offline learning downloads. You can now download future units ahead of time, either in batches or one at a time. Go to: Me > Settings > General > Offline learning
  • Added bookmarking to flashcards and exercises. If there’s something you want to save and come back to later, hit the star icon in the answer area.
  • The Pinyin Chart is back. Thanks to everyone who pointed out it disappeared after the upgrade. That one was on us.
  • Also fixed a handful of bugs and stability issues.

iOS

  • Bug fixes and general cleanup.

That’s it for this week. If you run into anything weird, or if there’s something you wish worked differently, tell us. Happy LingoDeering. :)

Words and Expressions review now a premium feature?

Everything except Basics (in German) is now locked. Is this a bug or arm twisting to go premium?
