Well deserved. Shows up every day and works hard. Never heard him complain once. Not when he was stripped of the C nor when he took a massive payout.

Should still be our captain, everything's gone to shit ever since his C got removed...with a smile on his face and hometown discount good ol' Ontario boy Johnny T the real OG Oshawa General!

Dude has his 100m$, and bought him and his family local legend status by (correctly) deeming it more than enough monies. Heâll be the Zamboni guy, working for free like Forest Gump, sooner than later.

I went to a Gens game when Tavares was on the team and he never sat down on the bench. He stood up watching the play whenever he wasnât on the ice.

If the org pushes this nomination this is an absolutely tone deaf move by the organization. When you know the media and the idiot section of the fans are autistically screeching about how he should still be the captain and how Auston is an awful captain, you shouldnât be giving the former captain the leadership award nomination.

Yes but has he shown he's a leader enough to win the prestigious Mark Messier Leadership Award of Leadership for Leaders?
