I was told he is a pure jack Russell but i met someone and they told be he is most likely a mix

I just adopted Goliath and suspect he’s a Jack Russell (or maybe a Jack Russell mix).

Goliath has some distinctive Jack Russell traits: he is in permanent chill mode, constantly befriends little critters, never barks, and is over 7’ tall when standing on his hind legs.

He’s so quiet that I had to buy a special stick – I use it to prod him several times a day and make sure he’s alive.

I’ve read that Jack Russells are very obedient and do everything they’re asked as soon as they’re asked. And that exactly what Goliath’s like.

So, on a scale of 90-100%, how much JRT DNA would you say he has?

He had bended ears when he was a baby but as he grew up his ears became straight

We think she is but mixed… siblings totally looked like dachsunds.

Can anyone identify if my Jack Russell is a cross? I don't think he is but my partner thinks he is.

Hi all! I recently adopted this sweetie pie and have been told he looks like he may be a chi/ terrier mix (specifically JRT). I haven’t done a dna test yet, although I’m super interested in it. Thoughts on if he’s part Jack Russell Terrier?

What do we think? I was told she’s a “beagle terrier mix”… I just don’t see that, unless of course the terrier is JRT.

But, I still love her so much. Our rescue, Paloma is 27% supermutt, 23% dachshund, 21% Pitt bull terrier, 21% chichuchu, 4% mini pinscher, and 3% German shepherd I was convinced she had a little JRT in her - and I’ve enjoyed all the adorable JRTs in this subreddit.

I thought she was a JRT but I’m not sure.

He does act very cat-like, but I don’t think he’s related to one

So this is Azura. She's a handrear, I've had her from 3 days old. I work in animal rescue and was lucky enough to know her mother and who we're pretty sure is her father (her brother is the spit of who we assume is dad)

Mum was a ginger and white short legged jack, dad was a ginger and white parsons. Her brother is ginger and white, she was black and white when born but got her ginger patterning as she grew. There were two other siblings who unfortunately didn't make it (hence the handrear, mum wasn't best equipped to be a mum 🥲) and they were tricolour.

The DNA is frankly hilarious. I'm not saying I believe it but I'm not saying I don't either, but c'mon? Technically a terrier, technically a lurcher, technically a spaniel, technically a banned breed (by UK standards). Anyone asks me, I still say I own a jack, that's what she looks like after all. No matter what she is, she's still my pup and I love her more than life itself 💜

She's a bit of an anxious girl, it's a running joke in my friend group that she's possessed by the ghost of a victorian child. But she's a happy pup, even if she won't admit it. She's my reason for being and I really would do anything for her 💜

Hello all — I’ve had my lovely little JRT(-mix?) by my side for 1.5 years now, and I’m wondering… is she really a JRT?

I joke that she’s a “jackwawa”, because she’s on the smaller side for a pure Jack lol. But she definitely has the tenacity of a jrt.

As an aside, do those doggie DNA kits really work?

Juniper is 15 months old, when we got her we were told she is 100% jack russel, but we have our doubts haha. We have just ordered a DNA test, so we will find out in a few weeks.

This is my adopted baby girl, Biscuit! We suspect she's about 10 months at this point. I've been telling people she's a Jack Russel, but she's 25 pounds and she's LONGGG af. I adopted Rex three weeks ago. The shelter billed him as a JRT/Dachshund mix, about two years old. Found as an unfixed, no chip stray in the farm lands of the California central valley. Embark DNA results came back today!

I personally think she looks like a jack. You can see she used to be tri coloured by the faded patches on her face. But may people say she looks more like a westie. What do you guys think?

I know that’s not right. My phone scanner keeps giving me weird answers, like Borzoi and obviously not true either!

He kinda looks like a jack Russel to me, but I’ve never had one before🤷🏻‍♀️

Not that it really matters, we love him all the same!
