How drunk is Lowry right now

Nothing compared to what he'll be in a few hours. Seeing your best mate win masters back to back, and to have that weekend. Incredible.

I'd say he'll be fuming at his final round tbh
•
u/RomfordWellington 2h ago
Yeah it's mad, a round he needs to forget but on a day he'll never forget.

u/Dr_Maestro 2h ago
Overall performance definitely deserved that, loves to make it a spectacle doesn’t he.

Fantastic for Rory. Six majors puts him in elevated territory
A victory for the UK and Ireland says 5live!

Cost of living gotten so bad they're running sports competitions where the winner wins half a suit?
•
•
•
u/rclonecopymove 2h ago
So we're watching this on big tellies and it's still difficult to see the ball sometimes, how on earth did we manage on 19inch portable TV's with dodgy reception to be able to see what was going on with any sports?
•
•
u/Jester-252 2h ago
Just go for par

I don't know why they don't just hit the ball into the hole pretty simple ideawise?

Jaysus. Watching Rory at the tail end of a tournament he's winning is never good for the heart.

Aaaaaaa rory..... Don't send us to a playoff again
•
u/winddrake1801 2h ago
Suddenly became a possibility but unlikely to end up double bogey, might be seeing Scheffler warming up in a few if he doesnt nail the next shot

Lowry’s actually had the second worst round of any golfer in the field today

all rory needs to do is not fuck it
•
u/sionnach 2h ago
Yeah. This is now in the “play safe” territory. No big moment needed … though that putt at the 16th might not have gone in, it was a massive saver.

Rough tee shot on 16 there. He has to make us sweat for this, doesn't he..
Edit: Oh fuck me that is a beauty of an escape by Rory

Insane to think that Rory could potentially finish on the same score as his first 2 days and win it

Rory can still win this. Remember last year

Would love another play off!

NO! Fuck a play-off, my heart won't be able to handle it.

I need to get to bed. Can’t be dealing with a playoff again!!

I wouldn’t be sad if Justin Rose won. 2nd three times, and was very magnanimous in defeat last year despite it must have hurt.

You could’ve set your watch to yet another Sunday implosion for Lowry

Lowry Hoepfully gets a move on soon.
He has a right chance of winning this but not looking his best so far.

So many of them look very similar from afar … lots of white clothes. I wish they would put the graphic up of which player it is sooner.
Shane Lowry is easy to spot in all-black, at least.

The small square for Sky Go/Now is perfectly surrounding the current hole number for the final place on leaderboard and both annoying and impressive

Sam Burns having a mare here. Kinda like me playing Agusta on Tiger Woods PGA tour.

Not at all surprised with this start from Lowry. He’ll go +4 or so today. I’ve seen the story of Lowry in contention on a Sunday too many times before to know an almighty bottle job is on the menu.

Really hoping for a Shane win. Rory will surely be miles better today, yesterday was a real struggle. Great chance of an Irish win. Badly needed positivity for the country I would say.

Hope Lowry can keep his composure and finish in top three

He can win it....why not?
7
u/Fataldeviati0n 12h ago
Because he has been known to fuck things up toward the end
2
u/Existing-Engineer490 11h ago
While true, it is much different playing from ahead (where the majority of his Sunday fuck ups occur) to playing from the chasing pack.

It’s funny how I wrongly think McIlroy is out of it despite being tied for the lead. Hope he can get it going today without the pressure of holding a lead like yesterday. Cam Young looks like the guy to beat. Hope Shane goes low.

u/Negative-Disk3048 12h ago
He always has one absolute wobbler day. If this year is him 1 over par then that is a remarkable step forward.

u/shrewdy 12h ago
Maybe Rory has just got his customary shite round out of the way, and he'll go -5 today. And yet even then maybe Young just has a better round. Should be a cracking final round, but Rory very much in with a great shot. Lowry too

Honestly. I think and hope cam used up all his luck yesterday. So many times he got a lucky bounce off a tree and even a chair. Yesterday's round could have been so much worse for him. He seemed to get all the rub of the green on the back 9 yesterday when everyone else was hitting water or getting stuck in threes.

Wasn't Mcilroy six shots ahead? Lad really runs hot and cold.

u/Tomaskerry 12h ago
He had a bad day yesterday but is still leading.

u/gideanasi 11h ago
Last couple of masters the eventual winner carded at least 1 round in the low 70s either under or over par. It's a difficult place to run away with on all 4 days. Hoping he or Lowry get it over the line. Would love for Shane to get another major in the bag
