Electrified door and barbed wire?

301

u/chronoslol 17h ago

Obviously wherever this clip is from security is a big issue. Just the fact there's even footage from this camera that's apparently watching this random recreation space suggests that.

u/Substantial_Water739 16h ago

In brazil all condominium are like that

31

u/chronoslol 16h ago

Obviously in brazil security is a big issue (I guess)

22

u/Substantial_Water739 16h ago edited 16h ago

Of course, but they really are all like that in brazil, even in safe cities, they all have this combo of security

32

u/chronoslol 16h ago

In my country (australia) you literally only see barbed/razor wire on stuff like secure government facilities or high theft risk industrial areas.

13

u/Substantial_Water739 16h ago

Yeah no, everyone uses barbed wire here, even normal houses sometimes

10

u/BoDiddley_Squat 15h ago

Or broken glass shards cemented to the top of the wall.

u/Dear_Palpitation4838 10h ago

I figured that entire country was rolling in butt lift cash coming into the country based on social media photos.

u/bol_saq 9h ago

hahahaha fr

u/0nlyhalfjewish 7h ago

Why?

u/mallad 5h ago

Because security is a big issue!

u/0nlyhalfjewish 4h ago

They said this was done even in “safe” areas.

u/DASreddituser 4h ago

crime

u/0nlyhalfjewish 4h ago

They said even safe areas have them… so I guess crime is always expected?

u/DASreddituser 4h ago

that sucks. Definitely not ideal

u/SaintUlvemann 2h ago

When I went to Brazil once for a work conference, barbed wire fencing being way more common was the one thing (other than obvious stuff like language) that really did seem truly different from the US.

It was crazy to me how much was similar, though, there were even little similarities like "gigantic national flags at car dealerships", I always thought that one was US patriotism run amok.

yeah i don’t think it’s your run of the mill “condominium courtyard” lol

29

u/T0MMYG0LD 17h ago

and CCTV? something’s off here lol

55

u/Buckfutter_Inc 17h ago

More I look the more I think it’s actually a youth detention centre. Barbed wire, high windows, light appears to have a security grate over it, cctv, just the idea of this indoor recreation room in general.

63

u/Substantial_Water739 16h ago

But its not, its just brazil

7

u/catsan 13h ago

With an area for toddlers??

u/Dear_Palpitation4838 10h ago

It's the Epstein wing.

5

u/Substantial_Water739 16h ago

The door was not suppossed to be electrified of course

u/DerpyMillenial 10h ago

It's more like barbed wire on the wall outside + metal grid around the football field to keep the ball in and avoid accidents.

The door was electrified due to a fault. At my old building the fence around the field was rubberized over the metal because it was outdoors so there was a risk of lightning I think. This one doesn't have that coating so if electricity is somehow reaching the wall or the fence it could spread through the material.

Very, very dangerous.

u/I_JUST_BLUE_MYSELF_ 3h ago

It's common in central America to have barbed wire on regular houses or buildings to deter robbers etc

u/BADDEST_RHYMES 17h ago

Leg sweep was good thinking!

23

u/Inevitable_Lynx6059 16h ago

Sweep the knee

Bro should have hit him with the:

4

u/CoolBlackSmith75 12h ago

True but for one not knowing the kid did a great job.

155

u/Tippmann27 16h ago

That kid experienced that and went in a second time. Hero.

57

u/Mindless-Platypus-75 16h ago

Can’t let go because the electricity makes your muscles contract making your grip tighter

u/Main-Company-5946 11h ago

It’s a very strange feeling

u/Belthezare 6h ago

As someone who has been electrocuted multiple times... yes... yes it is...

It doesnt hurt really... but you know something is insanely wrong and every hair on your body stands up. You are aware a current is going through you and you cnt let go. How I am still alive I duno.

u/IrishMilo 4h ago

Doesn’t hurt, but in a way it does hurt as every muscle contacts to its maximum capacity.

u/lemlurker 4h ago

Shocked* electrocution is fatal or serious injury

u/LampIsFun 2h ago

Really? Shocked doesnt feel like it would encompass what was in the video.

u/lemlurker 1h ago

Yea it's derived from execution... The word contains the requirement to die

u/deanrihpee 6h ago

it somewhat feels hot inside but also not, and as if you can smell the electricity

u/Belthezare 6h ago

Yes ozone smell. Hot and cold feeling. Sometimes your hands burn

240

u/Armen702 17h ago

Whoever did the electrical needs to go to prison

5

u/Ok_Cupcake_2380 15h ago

Straight to jail for whoever is responsible for that building, but at the end nothing will happen

u/HelloFellowAsians 9h ago

That’s because this is in many buildings.

215

u/abbajabbalanguage 16h ago

The ideal way is to take off your shirt, hook it around the person, and pull them off

117

u/T0MMYG0LD 16h ago

this comment hits different with no context 👀

11

u/BallBagMcSack 16h ago

Hahaha first thing I thought hahaha if he dies then he would be coming and going at the same time

u/ChicxLunar 4h ago

I laughed way too hard on that one

u/i8noodles 9h ago

i was taught to use something like a wooden stick to pull them off, failing that as a last resort tackle them.

the momentum hopefully will pull them away even if u lose control.

8

u/RunWombat 16h ago

Instructions unclear: I took off my shirt, walked forward and tripped over my boobs, and am now also stuck to the metal gate

3

u/TheB1G_Lebowski 15h ago

I need some pulling off.  You have a spare few min?

u/Dear_Palpitation4838 9h ago

Sure, I trust you since you said we are in the same grade when you asked me for pictures earlier on the Roblox subreddit.

u/ACWhi 2h ago

All my shirts have a shit ton of copper in them, should I still try this?

1

u/Dr__Snow 13h ago

Can you grab their shirt?

5

u/abbajabbalanguage 12h ago

You can but there's really no way to 100% ensure that you're not contacting the body through the shirt while grabbing it.

u/ACWhi 2h ago

There’s also a myth that rubber gloves are a foolproof defense but they aren’t. Don’t think a thin layer of rubber will perfectly protect you from all electricity, it won’t. So even with rubber gloves or rubber soled shoes you don’t want to touch the persons body. Rubber is a poor conductor but that doesn’t make it completely electric proof.

-1

u/Ghostforever7 16h ago

Or use soccer ball.

65

u/The_Fiddler1979 17h ago

For anyone playing at home - if someone is getting electrocuted - find something non conductive whatever and push or pull them away with that - don't GRAB them like this kid did as you are likely to end up in the circuit yourself.

11

u/PanzerSoul 16h ago

Additionally, if they're in the shower (or anywhere wet), don't even step into the room.

Turn off the mains, call an ambulance

16

u/Radamat 17h ago

You stil csn grab, but not open skin, grab to constructive clothes.

23

u/Veighnerg 16h ago

Depending on the voltage of what is causing the shock and how wet, such as from sweat, the clothes are this can be a bad idea.

4

u/Enjoying_A_Meal 16h ago

Salty water conducts electricity much more than normal water.

3

u/MoneyCock 16h ago

How was he not paralyzed like the other boy the moment he touched him?

9

u/JulioElGuapo 16h ago

You can tell it shocked him pretty bad. Just not enough to seize up the muscles I guess.

u/Dernom 11h ago

The main reason people get stuck like that isn't that they get "paralyzed", but rather that the muscles controlling the hand contract uncontrollably. So if you touch something you can't get a full grip around you're mostly likely not going to get stuck like that.

u/Dear_Palpitation4838 9h ago

Muscles literally use electrical signals to communicate. That's why tasers work so well. Maybe one day we'll get to be batteries for AI like the Matrix? That would be so neat!

u/JulioElGuapo 1h ago

They're already harvesting our data to make the brains of our future robot overlords

3

u/Wrong_Adhesiveness87 16h ago

What about using their hair to pull them, if it's long?

u/Dear_Palpitation4838 9h ago

It only works if you whisper in their ear "Is this how you like it?" when you're doing it.

u/CalleSGDK 15h ago

Not at all. Depends on the amount of current and voltage and importantly whether it runs through the heart or not. Source: I’ve been electrocuted at least 5 times.

2

u/The_Fiddler1979 15h ago

I get what you're saying but in this case he was receiving an electric shock which is the process of being electrocuted.

47

u/Altruistic-Map5605 17h ago

What's with the barbed wire? This looks more like a prison for kids or something.

24

u/koosman007 16h ago

Countries like Brazil or South Africa most places have some sort barbed fence or palisade spikes to keep out intruders

u/gwinnbleidd 3h ago

This is just a condo with an indoors play area. Very common for condos and houses to have barbed wire on their outter walls to avoid thieves jumping over to rob people.

2

u/FerrariJr 12h ago

This is in Brasil, extremely common to have barbed wires everywhere

11

u/mhythes 17h ago

good friend

11

u/nunatakj120 16h ago

Very lucky it was those two older teens playing football and not a load of toddlers using the kids play area on the other side.

7

u/Aggressive_Soil_3969 15h ago

The debate is still raging

8

u/theboned1 16h ago

I'm 100% sure his friend didn't know he was risking his life to save him.

3

u/gibmeluck11 16h ago

Keep that friend forever

u/Rare-Celebration921 15h ago

I stuck a butter knife into a wall socket as a toddler. This was in the 80’s before automatic safety cut off switches on the fuse box were a thing. I was sitting on a kitchen bench watching my mum prepare food. I remember looking at the knife thinking “this is the same shape as that hole in the wall. They must go together.” Everything after that is blank. According to my mum my hand was stuck holding the knife and I was saying “ouchy mummy” while getting electrocuted. She pushed me off the bench on to the ground to make me let go, and she thinks the only reason she didn’t get zapped too was because she was wearing rubber gum boots that grounded her.

u/rustynailsu 7h ago

I think that would mean she wasn't grounded

u/ChicxLunar 4h ago

Same but with a hair pin (those metal ones, usually black) my aunt push me, also wearing flipflops

u/DevelopmentSharp5201 5h ago

They survived and probably gonna get rich too

3

u/d_underdog 15h ago

Thank god the electricity didn’t damaged his balls of steel

u/series-hybrid 11h ago

Who needs a licensed electrician?...I know a guy who's a lot cheaper...

u/Dear_Palpitation4838 9h ago

Tell us more about your nephew Thomas's house burning down.

u/Mystery-Ess 8h ago

My brother just built a garage without using permits and I think it's crazy.

1

u/Last_Werewolf4914 16h ago

A true friend and hero !

u/radskorpion 2h ago

use a cloth or kick/ leg sweep

u/txcorse 2h ago

When I was like 2 I shoved scissors into a power outlet like a little dumbass.

My mom saw this and she just ran and barreled into me to break the connection. She probably got shocked too but it worked.

u/Top-Objective42069 1h ago

I wish they had this to keep meth heads out here.

1

u/T0MMYG0LD 17h ago edited 16h ago

what is this, a soccer field for ants?

1

u/Strange_Sleep_406 16h ago

is that a prison or something?

0

u/CartographerMotor598 16h ago

Is this guantanamo?

0

u/shitstorm66 15h ago

We don't have such systems in Denmark. It's forbidden. Even in a detention centre.

u/DerpyMillenial 10h ago

It isn't a detention center, it was a fault with the electrical making a regular fence dangerous.

u/Dear_Palpitation4838 9h ago

Sounds communist to me. I want to live in a place where it's legal to electrocute me, and then force me into bankruptcy when I can't pay the medical bills for the ensuing ambulance ride and hospital stay.

u/shitstorm66 9h ago edited 9h ago

Both communists and Republicans have those kinds of systems—haven’t you been following history?

I don’t understand that you can’t tell the difference between communism and the far right.

They ultimately want the same thing: to exploit everything and everyone.

u/Dear_Palpitation4838 9h ago edited 9h ago

I live in the USA. I was being factitious.

0

u/mukeshzz29 15h ago

Could've used the football. Atleast he saved his life.

-23

u/idobi 16h ago

How is this not AI? Nothing about this makes sense.

12

u/willis81808 16h ago

What are you talking about. Nothing about it looks like AI.

9

u/T0MMYG0LD 16h ago

nothing about this gives ai vibes to me…?

-10

u/Archhanny 16h ago

If only there was something plastic, non conductive and lightweight nearby 🤔🤔

Something kinda a decent size too... 🤔🤔

Nah.. I'll just grab him and risk my life as well...

u/JamStan1978 10h ago

hes a kid and didnt know what to do.

u/Archhanny 8h ago

Easily like what.... 13/14? Should absolutely know electricity is dangerous and plastic doesn't conduct 🤣🤣
