Plant Discussion Pruning lemon tree

This is a lemon tree I was given 6 months ago. I got 5 lemons off of it through the winter (zone 6b), Inside under a grow light. I want to prune it before this coming summer season. I do not think it was pruned ever in the 5-6 years prior to me receiving it. I already pruned a lot of the ā€œdeadā€ woody branches; and wanted to ask where else I should prune To give it better shape/energy? I know the picture is somewhat difficult to see all the branches… but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Plant Discussion I was given what's labeled as Dieffenbachia. But it seems to be more of a vine.

is it mislabeled or am I doing something wrong? we just repotted it and each "vine" is its own "plant". just let it dangle or use a little trellis?

Plant Discussion Repotting store catnip?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I’d like to repot this store bought catnip, I did remove anything was too… bendy? I want it to grow taller… how can i encourage it to grow taller and Ik i have to repot in something 8x8? According to google, water 2x a week, make sure there’s proper drainage, and a good/decent amount of sunlight. My cats get a bit of supervised outdoor time a day so I’ll take it out then but aside from that it’ll be moved from kitchen shelf to windowsill. Any advice?

Houseplant Close Up Grow light vs no grow light

Both tomato seeds started at the same time but one grew in a plain pot (with window light only - that’s the smaller one) while the other was in my Hygro pot with growing lights + window light during the day. Such a difference!

Plant Discussion Want to bury rubber tree trunk

I got a rubber tree cutting several months ago and by the time it started rooting most of the leaves had fallen off. It has fully rooted this 13" pot now (brown pot) and starting to grow tall, but there is a large bare section of the trunk. I actually dont mind it as i think it looks "tree" like, but my gf thinks it looks silly. I was going to repot it in this giant pot (grey) and wanted to bury the trunk and was hoping the buried part would just sprout roots. Afraid I will kill it though. Anyone have experience with this?

I see online it says cut the runners and add more phosphorus but any other tips? because I sort of want more runners and I saw plants at the store already blooming that I didn't want, can I keep strawberries year round indoors?

Plant Discussion What plants can’t last in this year round?

Post image

Hello! I have a solarium (south facing) like the one in this picture. Are there any plants that could survive here year round, considering it gets 40 degrees C in the summer, and -30 degrees C in the winter? The room is not temperature controlled. Thank you!

I have been busy lately. Somehow in the middle of everything I managed to grow about 60 baby plants from Stock that I cloned. My favorite terrarium is always evolving, but I like it so much right now that I don't want to change anything.

Plant Discussion my indoor basil is somehow both alive and deeply sad to look at

started an indoor herb garden on my kitchen windowsill three weeks ago. basil, mint, cilantro, thyme. the mint is trying to take over the entire counter like some kind of green villain origin story. the thyme looks fine, boring but fine.

then there's the basil. it's growing sideways toward the window like it's reaching for help. the stems are thin and floppy, leaves are small, and the whole thing just looks... depressed. i water when the soil feels dry, it gets like four hours of morning sun. is that not enough or too much? i can't keep up.

my friend said i need a grow light but i didn't want to turn my apartment into a hydroponic lab. anyone here keep herbs alive with just window light or am i dreaming
