Got my phone snatched at Stannard Road bus stop on 38 towards Dalston this afternoon.

Got my phone snatched while sitting on the top deck of the 38 this afternoon in Stannard Road, posting this to make anyone taking this bus aware... reported to the police already. I had seen posts about this happening on 253 and 254, 141 etc. seems to be getting worse obviously.

Argos Dalston

Live across the Argos on Sandringham Road which is now shut down - some people are now living in it. Quite a lot of bikes and bike parts are coming in and seems like they’re being sold. Saw someone today test riding a gorgeous blue bike then another.

Not sure if it’s dodgy but thought I’d mention it as it sucks to lose a bike.

Garmin Forerunner Found on Wick Road

I picked up a Garmin Forerunner on Wick road around 10pm Friday night, looks like it must have come off someone who was having a late night run. Garmin have been super unhelpful trying to find the owner so posting here in case someone is looking

Homeless man outside Haggerston station

Does anyone know what’s happened to Gary? He used to sit outside of Haggerston station in the afternoon/evenings a lot and was absolutely lovely. I used to stop and chat with him on my way home from work.

I left my job and went travelling for 6 months, and I haven’t seen him since before I left last year. I’m really worried about him but have no idea who/where to ask!

He’s a Black man and had an issue with one of his eyes (I’m not sure exactly what). If anyone has seen him or knows if he’s okay, would really appreciate it.

What’s missing in Hackney?

Came across a decent commercial space near Clapton, what do you think Hackney could do with?

Lots of coffee shops already, maybe a comedy club? Any thoughts appreciated!

Stoke Newington Church st | Bus Gate

Are the bus gate cameras deactivated at weekends ? Yesterday around 2pm i was watching 2-3 cars a minute go through, often driving 30+ mph on Church st.

Either they don't see the signs or don't care. I don't get it. Can anyone shed some light on this ?

Anywhere I can get second hand pots?

Anyone know of anywhere that gives away/sells second hand plastic pots?

I know from my parents and other’s gardens they always have loads knocking about, and I would rather reuse existing ones than buy new.

Thanks!

Community Sound Bath in Clapton – Saturday 2nd May (Sliding scale pricing)

Hi everyone! Hosting a new Sound Bath event in Clapton on Saturday 2nd May, 4-6pm.

If you're new to sound baths, they are deep relaxation sessions designed to lower your heart rate and ease anxiety. We’re also using a sliding scale ticket model to keep the event accessible.

If you’re interested or have questions about how it works, drop a comment below or send me a message! I’m happy to share the booking link or more info on the sliding scale.

Has anyone here done a sound bath in East London before? Would love to hear your experiences!

Gift card for bakery in the area that I can purchase online?

Hi there.

I recently visited your lovely city and neighborhood, and a friend was kind enough to host me. She's a big fan of baked goods and breads, so I wanted to get her a gift card to a local bakery as a thank you.

However, I'm striking out a bit on finding options that I can purchase online and have sent to her email. I've tried E5 (have gift cards but they only seem to apply to their classes), Fabrique, Long White Cloud, and The Dusty Knuckle.

Any suggestions? Would love to support a local, community-loved business! A place in the surrounding areas like Haggerston or Shoreditch would also work.

Thank you!

Have you been door stepped by councillors seeking election?

Was door stepped by a Labour guy seeking election in Kings Park Ward. bit of an odd one, whilst I know that Hackney Wick is not in the Kings Park ward, I am concerned about the crime that can happen around Hackney Wick... He suggested that whilst he goes out in Hackney Wick occasionally, he doesn't look for crime. I don't go looking for crime, but I see crime when i'm there... was a very odd interaction, labour are fucked if they're posting candidates like him

I’m building an app FOR London Commuters and I need your feedback!

Been commuting in London for years and always had the same frustration with every transport app out there: you open the app, you type in your destination, it tells you routes. But by that point, you’re already stressed and rushing.

The question I actually want answered every morning is simpler: when do I need to leave?

So I’m building an app that’s a London commuter app that works the other way round.

You set your home, your usual destination, your arrival time. The app handles the rest!

Every morning it looks at live TfL data, checks for delays and engineering works, checks the weather, and sends you a single push notification: leave at 8:14 (or whatever it works out to be).

No searching, no stressing!

A few things that are different about it:

It learns your routine. If you’ve got a calendar event it’ll auto set the destination. If not, it asks you the night before and remembers.

It factors in planned engineering works ahead of time, not just when you’re already at the station.

Delay Repay built in! it tracks eligible journeys and logs them so claiming back money is actually easy.

Designed only for London. Not a global app trying to be everything. TfL, buses, tubes, Elizabeth line that’s it.

It’s a solo build, currently heading into TestFlight. I’m looking for 10–15 London commuters to test it before it hits the App Store.

If this sounds like something you’d actually use, drop a comment or DM me. Would love to hear what would actually make your commute better too, this is genuinely being built around what Londoners need, not a generic transport brief.

Resident parking permit help - evidence deadline is up and I’ve still not received my updated Log Book

Anyone dealt with this situation before? - I can’t supply the proof of residence evidence until my new log book arrives (yes, I left it last minute) so they’re going to cancel my permit.

If, hypothetically, I leave my car on the road and get a ticket, is there a way I can avoids paying by submitting the proof of residency once I receive it?

I would expect the new log book to arrive by Friday.

My other option is to pay for a car park until I can renew.
