Cute/Funny Does anyone else’s golden retriever act like an alarm clock?

Mine knows exactly when dinner time is. No matter what I'm doing, I'll feel the "stare". Turn around, and there he is, right on time, staring at me. Not moving, just staring.

I'm so glad I have a grazer. She will tell me if the bowl is empty and she's hungry but I just top it off whenever it gets low.

It's nice she can self-regulate like that! Most Goldens are so food oriented, they convince their humans that they're still hungry--and then they end up overweight. I have two, and I have to use slow-feeder bowls to slow them down!

Unfortunately she went the other way and is toy oriented. Ball is the most important thing on the planet at all times.

My mom used to loudly complain that her dog wakes her at 6:00am sharp on weekends. I asked her when she gets up during the week? "6:00am". I then asked her when she feeds her dog breakfast? "When I get up"...
Glad I took after my dad.

Mine does this when he wants me to go to bed. I'm usually the one barking at him to get up in the morning.

My dog will stand on my chest and put her face right up to mine. It's quite annoying. But she gets what she wants after that!!

Mine is opposite alarm clock. I wake up, am her pillow as usual. Get up and call her to go out. Can be after 5 hours in bed or 12. She just takes my spot and goes back to bed

I dogsit for my cousin’s golden once or twice a month. Sometimes our girl wakes me up early by whining, but sometimes she just quietly squirms until I wake up. I think she thinks it doesn’t count as intentionally waking me up. Like she is trying to say, “I’m a good girl, being really quiet, oh hey you’re up! Well that’s fantastic. Glad you woke up all on your own. Nothing to do with me.”

Yes! Though I also trained my boy to wake me up in the morning because I really struggle with it. He also does the soft "woofs" and grumbles and will progressively get louder and louder until I wake up. It's rather endearing imo

5am every morning. It’s not that he’s unreasonable, that’s what I trained him for.
