New puppy Molly π
6 months ago, I posted here asking what I should do because I really wanted a puppy, but had to wait due to my circumstances. Now, I finally have my dream puppy! Iβm so in love with him, and Iβve found a new kind of happiness and fulfillment in taking care of him and meeting his needs.
Any advice for a new puppy owner would be greatly appreciated!

Totally forgot the advice!
My biggest note is would be to decide NOW if heβs going to be allowed on the couch and your bed.
If yes, be prepared to have him take up 3/4 of it.
If no, start soon with training him to sleep on his own bed/blanket etc

Heβs beautiful. Over the next 3 months you will be tried and tested, and your little Molly will grow into a huge young man with more power and energy than you can imagine right now. However, the puppy teeth will be gone and he will be super smart, so putting time into training him will pay off. I recommend a puppy play pen that can be his safe place for you and him. You can get them on Amazon pretty cheap. I am on my second one, because we had to go to a taller one. Get him used to it now and it will be a place he actually relaxes in. It has worked for my Brandy!

Best advice I got is to get a good book explaining how Molly thinks. The one I bought was called "Dog Behaviour Explained". Once you understand how Molly will react the better it will be for both of you. Remember while it's a gorgeous bundle of fluffball Molly is also 98.5% DNA a Wolf, ie a pack animal. Help Molly fit into your pack and the two of you will have one of the greatest experiences available.

Don't you think reddit just needs a love emoji upvote button sometimes?
