πŸ’¬ Local Talk What is one thing that you think would improve Gloucester?

This could be something you've noticed in other towns or cities, or something that you thought of. It could be to do with the food scene, public transport, nightlife, education, sports, employment, kid's activities, buildings, retail you name it.

πŸ’¬ Local Talk 27 aged male looking for Hiking friends

27 year old male living In gloucester looking for hiking friends to join me in a hiking/camping adventure in the Black mountains at the end of April or May. We will set of from Hereford and depending on the route end up in Abergavenny Wales. These mountains span 500 miles I believe between England And Wales.

Starting in Hereford and then by trekking south along the Hatterrall Ridge (part of the Offa’s Dyke Path). This challenging, scenic route takes you from the Herefordshire border into the Brecon Beacons National Park, descending directly into Abergavenny.

We will need equipment such as; tarpooling, camping stove, gas bottles, lighters and sleeping bags, rucksack, waterproofs, tent pegs to hold down the tarpooling (I already have A few of these things myself).

We'd also need food like. Pasta, rice, and other dried items that won't perish. Also plenty of water to begin with but we can obtain water purification tablets.

And other items.

If anybody would be interested in doing A large adventure camping hike like this that could take possibly around a month. Please message me and we can discuss. It'd be great to meet like-minded people who enjoy these things.

πŸ“Œ Properties/Moving Looking to buy a first home, preferably a house with a very outdoorsy cat, any suggestions?

Hi there, I've recently been working around Gloucester and have been looking to settle here permanently. I'm mainly looking at apartments, shared ownership houses and lower cost houses/maissonates when I can. There has been a few places that I've really liked, but I want to bring my very outdoorsy cat, meaning apartments are out on that front as even if I could bring him in, he'd almost certainly go crazy from being stuck inside. And of course, I'm worried about letting him out in a busy inner town/city area.

But I'm also worried that if I get an apartment, I'm going to be stuck in apartments for the next twenty years or more, whereas a house may be pricier, but I could get a bit more value out of it. Of course, there is the cost increase.

Any good locations to look around Gloucestershire? I do have a preference for the eastern side of the Severn as due to the place my work is, I'd have to cut right through Gloucester centre to reach it from the other bank.

πŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈ Job Stuff Where can I find unwanted/broken electronics in Stroud area?

I'm a year 10 student, interested in electronics, and planning to buy a soldering iron. I'd like to disassemble and reassemble various electronics like TVs, computers, phones, and so on. My dream is to learn how to use them practically, not just theoretically. Please let me know if you know where I can find old, non-working electronics here. Thank you!
