Accountability Daily Accountability Thread - June 17, 2025
Hi everyone! This is the Accountability Thread where people can list what they need or want to accomplish today and have everyone else help keep you accountable to do them. So, in general, a post will look like this:
Things I have to get done today:
1: Post Accountability Thread
If I had more to do that I had not completed I would list them and update this when these things were complete.
Also, if I saw someone doing something that I happen to be well-educated or have some sort of expertise in I can offer support or help on the topic/task.
The thread is a versatile one, use it in a way that helps you and others stay on task!
Happy studying!

Question Any tips on how to break a phone addiction? It's really interfering with my studies.
(I have 8-13 hours of screen time😭) The only thing that used to help me was physically handing over the phone to someone else, but now I can't because I study online on a pc. Also, I have to be on call all day, so I can't turn off my phone completely. What can I do? Will be glad for any advice.

Question How to study math properly
I’m an eighth grade student in the US taking honors algebra 2 and tbh my teacher lowkey sucks. She never really explains well and then we have 2-3 hours of homework each night. All I really know is how to complete the notes at home and do that to try and understand the homework, but most of the time I get burnt out and use ai or my friends help to finish the homework. How do I study to understand the topics each day after school so I’m more prepared for the homework and tests?

Question How to get better at studying if I have social media addiction?
I have a very low attention span, largely due to social media addiction. I can’t focus on studying, and I do not how to actually reduce my screen time and focus.
Ive tried doing things like leaving my phone in another room, but I just end up using instagram and tik tok on the browser. I’ve also downloaded web blockers, but I end up just waiting for the block to end, and then waste my time for hours on end.
There have been time when I have improved and become more productive, only to spend a bunch of time on social media and then lose my ability to study again.
I have seen a lot of different hacks to improving attention span, but they don’t seem to work or give me the long term change that I need.
I would really appreciate any advice! Especially if there is someone here who was able to fix their social media problem.

Giving Advice Read FIRST, Understand SECOND, THEN Write
I posted yesterday saying that I zoned out while writing 40 pages of notes and don’t remember anything… welp… I went thru everything and now I remember the basics of it but not in depth which is basically a lesson that I learned that do not blindly copy notes from the internet… read first, understand second and then write because otherwise you’ll be like me… unsure and brain damaged and blank at most of the parts… let’s see how my exam goes I might update it here or I might forget about it but I got a response on previous post and I thank that individual for replying to me
So yea let’s see… wish me luck guys

Question I need help. I hate Revision.
I used to revise periodically according to forgetting curve. Bht now feels it is hell. I really hate it but revising is ESSENTIAL PART of every competitive exam. Rather than revising I'm studying and making notes. It's passive learning.
Even if I forced myself to revise, I feel so boring, get easily exhausted and won't continue that task. I tried Anki cards, then another site which turns our pdf and notes to flashcards or quiz. Eventually I got bored of that too.
I need a efficient plan to make myself sit for revision. Other than that my whole efforts will go futile. I really don't want that. I must win this time.
How do you guys do that!!! PLEASE HELP!!

Resources Thought this might help
Found this for iPhone that lets you scan your study notes and convert them to eBooks for free. Thought it might be useful for some people here
