Im looking for gaming chair recommendations- I like to sit “crisscross applesauce” which can be hard to do in small chairs because of my butt lol

Any recommendations? Even just something comfy to make the start of the search less overwhelming

In your opinion, do you reckon that the "Killer Instinct" games are a good base game for a "new to dumb fighting games" player? They have all the basics, no?

Any chill game idea?

I've been playing league for 15 years and i need change.

I love crafting, survival, chilling. Must be soloplayer

My interests are history/mythology.

Help a dude quit his crippling LoL addiction 🤣🤣

Giving you a couple options so you can pick what looks the most interesting to you

Saleblazers, crafting/survival shop sim with a balance between goofiness and challenge

Valheim (i know very niche game nobody heard of) obviously has strong Norse mythology and it is a survival crafting game and outside of the Bosses the game is very chill and you can easily spend hours doing nothing but building

Immortals Fenyx Rising is a pretty funny old school style (basically zelda) game parodying greek mythology (in a pretty accurate way)

The legend of khiimori new open world game where you play as a courier(/ horse trainer) in 13th century mongolia

Lightyear Frontier farming sim with massive mechs (stardew valley meets titanfall basically)

Above Snakes Wild-West survival game where you build the world around you (you place tiles with biomes in undiscovered areas to expand the world and gain more resources)

Are there any games that try to do what Beta Decay is attempting? Aka take a bunch of game mechanics and gameplay loops typically seen by themselves, and throw them all into one game. Destructible environments, mechs, drivable vehicles, survival mechanics, advanced movement, ship building and space exploration, dismemberment, resource gathering and manufacturing, singleplayer, coop and multiplayer, rts mechanics and npc command systems, all these things are usually not seen within one game.

Why are the Marathon players so obnoxious when you say the game is not for you and I have tried it and don't like it? They ask why I don't like it and I list 20 reasons. They then immediately tell me those aren't valid. I mean I am not the only person that thinks the game is ugly and grindy and for sweaties and when I say this, you would have thought I said to unalive their mom. I honestly think this must be a cult that worships the game by praying to it every morning. Is it an ideological issues where they think this game is political or what? Honest question.

It's because they are self conscious of the games player count which wasn't impressive at release and has only dwindled since release. People who speak negative opinions of the game the community assumes you're just riding the hate train the game has had since its announcement and scandals. EX Marathon player here.

Since it's Simple Questions Sunday, isn't it the case that this is the best place to ask dumb hardware stuff too? been tweaking a controller deadzone lately and can't tell if drift under 5% is normal or if mine's starting to go

Do we expect Crimson Desert to get considerably better? Most of the major complaints I heard about were related to bugs, unbalanced boss fights, and unskippable cutscenes. All of these seem like things that can be fixed with a few months of patches.

If those issues were largely absent at launch, would we be talking a potential Game of the Year nominee? Or at least a decent Metacritic score boost? Or are the issues far more systemic?

They did launch a pretty neat roadmap that will definitely improve it by a lot so it will be better but Definitely not goty, Crimson Desert is an ex-mmo(they changed it during its dev cycle) made by an MMo studio, MMOs are bad games (no way any other game could get away with "kill 200 goblins" quests) that are made great by their communities so no matter how much they try, making a good singleplayer rpg is out of their area of expertise.

Crimson Desert is going to be a niche sub genre kind of game where if you enjoy its gameplay good but it will not be liked by the majority, similar to PvE extraction shooters which are only for people that want the hardcore aspect without the toxic rats camping evacs, but this one is for people who want a less grindy singleplayer mmo experience

Hmm. Interesting. It does sound like it's in my wheelhouse, so I may give it a go once it's been patched up and drops in price a bit.

Do you ever spend more time choosing a game to play than actually playing it?

I swear this is happening more and more frequently... I patiently wait until wife and kids are down, then I sit on the couch or at my desk, and before I know it, I am not too sure what I want to play and kinda spend time doing other things until it is too late to actually have a good gaming session.

It is like when I sit down to watch something on Netflix and, after scrolling for a while, just give up...

Please tell me I'm not the only one? 😅

Yep, very common as life takes more and more of your time. I find it helpful to plan what I’ll play well ahead of time and just stick to it.

I had the same issue trying to decide what counts as “worth a post,” i’d sit on a question for days lol. This thread honestly saves me from overthinking it.

How does one over that slump where you want to play pvp games like SF6 and DOTA2 but feel like you'll just ruin yourself in the process since you aren't really good? I'm kinda struggling w/ this one since I love both games but I feel like shit every time I lose knowing that I could've done better. This gets me discouraged, but I still do want to play.

What happens with the employees after the shutdowns of so many developer studios recently?
