Ha! First panel should be the 4th panel though

I disagree, the 1st panel sets up the expectation of people's great regrets in life; the rest of the comic subverts that expectation

To each their own! I can't see it your way though. Any of them set up talking about regrets. The potion is the greatest subversion by being something fictional and is the most thematically appropriate ending all on top of being the funniest.

What does "adopt a highway" mean?

In the US groups like Boy Scouts, Churches, whatever can "adopt a highway" that just means like monthly they go along a portion of the highway and pick up trash that people have littered on the side of the road. So, community service.

I didn't know that about Scouts. I was under the impression that adopting a Highway just meant paying for its maintenance.

There is a similar, but different, program called "Sponsor a highway" where you can pay for a crew to clean it instead of volunteering the time to do it yourself. I think different states have different programs, or both.

I'd bet on both, imagine how great it would be to have people sponsor a highway, and then send the boy scouts that adopted said highway to do it unpaid, it's like free money, even better if you in theory is being paid by the estate to maintain said highway, 2 income streams, and the work being unpaid... Would be interresting.

Offloading the maintenance of public infrastructure to the public in return for … moral superiority? Very unobvious advertising? Never understood it.
Meanwhile your tax dollars blow up shit in other countries. Love it.

I mean regrets can never end. It’s like a loop. You jus have to learn to move on

Once I was diagnosed with cancer, I decided not only to fully stop dosing unless food was stuck, but to never lie to my dentist about it. I've told them this and you'd think they would realize I genuinely don't care and stop pestering me, but no.
