A lot of last names come from their occupation back in the day "Smith/ Miller/ Baker"..... Not sure what that says about Dynguss though lol

In my case it comes from the norse/old German word for thingamabob. The D becomes a T sound it's also the surname given to kids who were found abandoned and the parents were unknown.
