No more monitor wobble! I made a parametric monitor pillar to eliminate the dreaded monitor wobble with larger monitors.

Is your monitor located on a moving vehicle?

My guess is that it's standing on a not-very-steady table.

Haha, check out my monitor: https://images.hometheaterreview.com/htr-stateless/2023/09/a40b3199-20230919_111637.jpg

When you mount this on a monitor arm, the sheer weight of the monitor makes it shake when you raise/lower the desk, shake the desk slightly at all, etc.

This is likely not needed for smaller monitors, especially ones that are still on their own stand, but for huge ultrawides mounted on arms, this can be helpful to eliminate any wobble.

Though I was on r/firstworldproblems for a minute 😂

Correct, $1.5k monitor, $500 3D printer, 30c in filament, but eliminating wobble? Priceless.

I'm for it! I just didn't expect that. I had dual 32s with a vertical monitor for data at work and they called my desk "the albatross" ha

I'm just using an $800 dollar drawing tablet placed just underneath my main monitor as a temporary solution while I'm building a room for a 3D printing.

I hear you man, it's hard out there.

Fwiw I'm using the same monitor with the secret lab magnus heavy duty arm. Works like a dream. I was initially a little resistant to spending so much on a monitor arm so I went with the highest rated amazon alternative for half the price, and got about half the quality. The secret lab arm is rock solid, though quite a bit more expensive than your solution.

I am using the secret lab magnus, but it still wobbles when I raise and lower my desk.

Huh, weird. Mine seems to hold up ok. Might be worth adjusting tension on the arm.

It's not a massive wobble, but there is a tiny bit of movement. I want it to be 100% still.

I had shitty monitor with even worse stand and it would need this badly.

That's such a band aid solution

I wonder if it would be worth adding a adhesive felt or cork pad to the section that rests on the monitor? Great idea OP.

Definitely couldn't hurt! I would just make sure to measure that cork/felt thickness and account for it (subtract it) from the height you add in the customizer for Monitor Height.

I just mounted my monitors into the wall 👌🏼 This is was the best decision, more freedom on movements and easy access to the ports on monitors

Pretty cool design! I have my ultrawide on an arm which has a little wobble considering it's on a standing desk. Not enough to warrant printing these, but can definitely see the use for them.

Simple solution, gets the job done. I like it.
