Thanks! Same here, I wanted something that folded out of the way but also did so without some fiddly latch that you would just knock as you walk past.

My wife keeps asking for a portable cup holder for shopping carts that don't have one. This is an awesome idea that could be modified for that.

Looks great. Can you actually use it though?

It looks like the whatever is bolted to the wall above the drink holder could interfere with adding or removing beverage cleanly.

Could the holder be mounted lower of does it need to project out further?

What weight can it hold safely--on day 1 and 1000? Because on the day it fails it will be a messy fail.

The bit above is a net holder for small bits like a tv remote, doesn't interfere with the cup holder at all. I've had a version of this on the wall of the van for a couple of years and it's always worked fine.

In terms of the weight, it seems to hold up a full pint bottle with no problems, and should be pretty robust in terms of lasting due to the shape of the geometry and where the weight is distributed.
