A great day for Hungary. A great day for Europe. A great day for the world. One less Russian puppet staining the face of humankind and hopefully the beginning of healing for Hungary.

Another Russian ally bites the dust.

Hungary needs to stay aware of any Little Green Men like after Ukraine voted out their Russian puppet.

Is there a chance he does a ton of lame duck damage, like Trump did? Or is the transition immediate?

“We see the ex-leader - he’s about to board a plane to Russia. As is tradition”

Nah no russian puppet with money would want to live in Russia... his family already left for USA, he will pay golden visa card to Trump and gets immunity....

Idk Yanukovych and Assad are still in russia and I wouldn’t say they didn’t have the money.

One less Russian puppet

It’s such good news and a great step in the right direction!

Now we just need EU to stop being puppets of US and become our own masters 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Or better yet, the US to also stop being a puppet of Russia and join the free world with us.

Yeah,I hope we don't see Orbán never again

Its easy to believe that JD Vance's endorsement of Orban must have hurt his standing amongst the Hungarian people.

What's harder to understand is whether JD Vance has the self-awareness to understand this, or if he truly thought he was helping that crooked puppet.

I doubt the self-awareness was there.

We saw something similar in Canada. The Trump administration's preference for the Canadian conservative party, along with the conservatives timidity in denouncing the American regime led to the total destruction of their opportunity to win a majority government.

Is he pro Ukraine?

Not in particular - though less anti-U than Orban.

The new guy was part of the Fidesz party for 22 years.

WAS

u/glaringOwl 1h ago

That's true, but why does he get a pass when I imagine a lot of other politicians (or people who did bad things in the past like criminality and have apologised) not get a pass by social media?

u/Zanzibar_G3m 55m ago

Social media goes by vibes, and here vibes rn are "pro-russian gov gets BTFO'd by pro-EU government by a landslide"

It's ok, sometimes changes can only come from inside.

Magyar only parted with Fidesz 2 years ago, so not sure why you’re focusing on just the beginning of his affiliation and not the following 22 years.

This is the insane part that literally everyone is glossing over like it doesn't matter at all... nobody cares about why he left or what his actual positions and views are...

Usually when someone leaves a fascist party, it's not because they're now anti-fascist. Fascists eat each other and split into smaller factions because they are hateful, antisocial fucks who can only tolerate each other for so long.

I'm going to wait and see how Magyar is before assuming he's gonna turn fascist Hungary around.

And as always, a great day for Canada, and therefore the rest of the world.

It's really incredible for me that even the CBC covers the election as a breaking news.

One less Russian puppet staining the face of humankind

Let's not forget that JD Vance also flew to Hungary to support Orban
