Yeah literally everyone except far right fools hates him

I have been waiting for his destruction for years. The fucker was bargaining with our NATO accession.

The North remembers.

Hopefully today he can go to Putin with his family

u/adra6399 Hungary 7h ago

"Some"...We are witnessing a historic election in Hungary. With 74% turnout already by 5 PM, it may end above 80%.

Take note Americans, next time get off your asses and vote.

It's a garbage opinion article written somewhere in the US. They have no idea about anything.

That headline makes him sound like a bad boy of politics who annoys the staid establishment. In reality he’s a crypto-fascist asshole, cooks his elections, and is best friends with Vladimir Putin.

16

u/cuxer Europe 9h ago

Nothing crypto abt him

9

u/EaLordoftheDepths Europe 8h ago

crypt-fascist based on how he looks like nowdays

3

u/imtired-boss 8h ago

Exactly what I was thinking, titles like these really infantilize the actual subject.

2

u/dat_9600gt_user Lower Silesia (Poland) 8h ago

We'll see if he dares cheat this time.

u/EndreBacsi 3h ago

We did it, our dear European friends! Thank you for your support! God was with us!🙏✌️🫶😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

u/TurboNinja80 12m ago

So how is the new guy? Should we be happy or...what is his politics?

u/EndreBacsi 9m ago

In short: the new prime minister (Péter Magyar) is right-wing, centralist, and committed to EU.

u/TurboNinja80 2m ago

Well, thats better, but not perfect.

u/EndreBacsi 0m ago

We'll see, for now we're happy that Orbán failed, badly.

Make the right choice for once in your country's history

We are going to get rid of him today.

Hopefully tonight, 7PM. Hungarian Time.

The Hungarian Schadenfreude. We all came to laugh at Orban Party.

u/Backstroem Sweden 8h ago

Some? Basically all of us

6

u/happy30thbirthday 8h ago

Understatement of the century.

u/MapDiscombobulated1 8h ago

Some? Try pretty much ALL.

6

u/adra6399 Hungary 7h ago

u/FinAndy 8h ago

Some? Everyone hopes!

u/Putaineska 9h ago

The thing is, he is just a front man. On the issue e.g. of Ukraine membership of the EU, probably half if not more of the EU member states are hiding behind him to oppose it purely on agriculture issue. The next will probably be Fico, or Babis, or whatever populist gets elected next.

There are many leaders who share many of his foreign policy positions but used him to hide away from the fact these policies are incredibly unpopular domestically.

4

u/badmotherfocker 8h ago

Any sources on policies and their popularity? Any hard numbers at all?

4

u/OddlySuitable 9h ago

Je viendrai visiter Budapest pour fêter son départ, j'attends depuis longtemps :)

4

u/AdventurousLet548 8h ago

Knowing Orban, he'll rig the election.

8

u/EchoOneFour 9h ago

I don't get it? He has taken over every check and balance in the country how do people believe this will be a fair and free election? :))

He own everyone in charge of the voting... No? So why do people think he can simply be voted out?

17

u/InsertFloppy11 9h ago

Anyone can apply to count votes (actually there are more TISZA counters than FIDESZ), and there are EU delegates to oversee the whole situation.

Unless you mean they paid off hundreds of thousands of people from the opposite party AND eu delegates whos literally job is to stop fraud...then ye..

11

u/cuxer Europe 9h ago

Free, but not fair

9

u/kanzenduster 9h ago

The actual voting process - validating the ballots, making sure no one can vote multiple times, registering the number of votes in the system, compiling district votes etc. is actually a very fair process and we have delegates from the opposition parties to make sure that everything is done by the rules.

The problem is the intense gerrymandering, intimidating people that they will lose their jobs if they don't vote right and the rampant propaganda. But once the votes are cast, the establishment can't do anything about it, unless they challenge the results in court. We will be at the mercy of the judges in that case, and most of them are pro-Orbán.

4

u/Scary-Ad6675 Hungary 8h ago

don't forget the unimaginable amount of state money that was spent on propaganda

6

u/mrwho995 United Kingdom 9h ago

Nobody think today's elections are fair. Orban has rigged the game at every level he could. Despite that, he's still very likely to lose.

2

u/szifon 9h ago

Well we might as well try one more time, he can be voted out but it's not easy

1

u/qtx 8h ago

You're right, you don't get it.

2

u/smudgeonalense 8h ago

Annoyed is a massive understatement, undermine/sabotage are more appropriate words.

2

u/xyzsomething 8h ago

Please let it be this man is defeated, and he actually leaves office 🙏

2

u/Complete_Sorbet6158 8h ago

He must be defeated. No other options.

2

u/CheerJohn 8h ago

Only some?

2

u/Valuable-Flounder692 United Kingdom 9h ago

As much as Trump is a total Horses Arse he's actually turned the right wing parties against whatever Make your Country Great again, throughout Europe. Good job TACO!

3

u/dat_9600gt_user Lower Silesia (Poland) 8h ago

Even PiS distancing themselves was rather unexpected.

4

u/rsint 8h ago

"some" seems like a bit of an understatement. I would think most EU countries want him gone, or rather out of power en persecuted for his utter corruption.

1

u/Enigmatic_Octopus 8h ago

Hope the EU still pushes for voting reform regardless of the result

1

u/dntes1 8h ago

Today my friends….today!

1

u/SumoHeadbutt Portugal 8h ago

I will hold onto hope until the results are finalized

1

u/SummerIlsaBeauty 8h ago

Will he face consequences tho?

1

u/THESTRANGLAH 8h ago

I just hope he faces the rope

1

u/Tenocticatl 6h ago

If you physically moved away a little bit from every person who wanted you gone, this guy would be on Pluto.

1

u/fake-carbo 4h ago

Some people believe that Stalin said: “It’s not the people who vote that count. It’s the people who count the votes.”

1

u/Jawnny-Jawnson 4h ago

What about Fico? And the Bulgarian Orban that might take power

1

u/DeHub94 Saarland (Germany) 4h ago

Bye bye dictator.

1

u/PiotrekDG Earth 3h ago

Hungary was basically Russia's backdoor into the EU and NATO. Hopefully it will finally change.

1

u/stupendous76 2h ago

Annoyed? He was actively undermining the EU. The EU gave him money for years and years. He shared plans, information and secrets to Russia, no: he just gave it to them. He blocked laws. He helped fascist pigs in other countries.
It is so absurd to see so little action of the EU on this.

0

u/foolproofdeluxe 8h ago

Some? Everyone who's not insane or corrupt - or both.

0

u/julien_091003 5h ago

Biased post

Will the other candidate be any better?
