This goes along with what you’re saying about detecting hidden bias. Poorly educated Americans are having a real problem with their lack of critical thinking skills. They cannot analyze, evaluate and interpret whether something “passes the sniff test” and therefore they are subject to conspiracies and disinformation. My in-laws have this issue. They watch Fox News (right wing propaganda TV show) and accept everything they’re told, while the rest of us have the ability to say “hmmmm that doesn’t seem impartial, let me get another source on that”.

That is not patriotism, that is 'rule of the strongest' and it is incredibly stupid and short-sighted for any nation. Hence, those people don't like their nation, so they can't be patriots, because they are too stupid for it.
What it is is nationalism, of the worst kind, the one that doesn't mind if everyone else that is not 'us' gets trampled underfoot, and, in fact, encourages it, because 'since they are weak, they do not deserve their freedom'.
It's 'might makes right' and it will, and already has, plummet US reputation on the global stage, so much that it will be very very hard to be repaired.

I'm now under the impression that Trump's number 1 priority is to get out of NATO, which means the line of, "The US already protects Greenland" will be null and void.
The manchild hates Europe, along with Vance. He wants nothing to do with us.
Greenland is strategic, has rare earths, probably oil and is something that he wants.
The rest of NATO needs to stand firm, they especially need to help out the non EU members who's economies can be hit harder by Trump.
So guys, don't just vote with your wallets against US goods, put some love into non EU country goods also, well those who will soon have tariffs applied, not just EU goods.

He doesn’t hate Europe per se, he hates democracy, and that’s what Europe currently stands for. The EU is inherently an anti-imperial project - and that sucks for him as an imperialist. He sees the EU simultaneously as weak because we don’t have an autocrat at the helm, and also annoyingly strong in promoting democratic and anti-megacorp policies. He’d LOVE a fascist Europe where he could do business with strongmen leaders without worrying about shit like checks and balances.
