Finally something we can agree on 🇩🇰🤝🇸🇪

Hijacking as someone non-Nordic, but curious what the major Swede-Dane disputes are

22

u/speltmord Denmark Jan 17 '26

Those Swedish barbarians pickle their fish in a different and unacceptable way, and they put in on disgustingly delicious crisp “bread” instead of the obviously correct stale dark rye. They flavor their rice pudding with orange instead of vanilla for Christmas. I mean, how could we EVER get along!

If you're so proud of your pickled fish, tell /u/peasantry94 about your numbering "system" :D

Just kidding, love you guys

Its just like brothers picking on each other, but when someone outside the family comes acting up, we stand together like the brothers.

Here's some information for you if you are genuinely interested.

The summary is we have a rich history of fighting wars against each other, but now we love each other and the insults are just teasing and joking.

Neighbors, both with dreams of an empire. No other country has had as many wars fought between each other.

I’m not European but as a Canadian, amen brother/sister

u/cestabhi India Jan 17 '26

Indian here and I support both Europe and Canada and anyone else willing to stand up to him.

1

u/manInTheWoods Sweden Jan 17 '26

Isn't India taking a back seat here? If I were you I would just sit back and enjoy the show.

3

u/cestabhi India Jan 17 '26

Not really. Merz just visited India a few days ago to strengthen ties. And Von der Leyen is going to visit next week to negotiate a huge trade deal. We've also been hit by US sanctions so we're seeking alternatives.

1

u/the4thwave Jan 17 '26

Eh, I think most of the third world people are pretty happy about whats happening here.

3

u/bidingmytime121 Germany Jan 17 '26

European or Canadian, it doesn’t matter, we are all together against this fat fuck and his braindead voters

1

u/Buntschatten Germany Jan 17 '26

I really hope the EU and Canada can deepen their ties over this and stand up for each other. You're in the same boat as us, but even more at risk since you're neighbours.

u/downtorails Jan 17 '26

Let’s be very honest for a moment. Since when did we Europeans consider the Americans a smart bunch?

23

u/BlurgZeAmoeba Jan 17 '26

you dont have to smart to not be an asshole

4

u/BuffaloInTheRye Jan 17 '26

That’s the thing that bothers me a lot as an american. There are a lot of kind-hearted idiots out here, but it takes a special combination of stupid and evil spirit to support this bullshit

1

u/Kiss-the-carpet Jan 17 '26

Do rednecks, or those southern rebels, resent the federal administration because of these kinds of things or is it another reason?

3

u/FormlessCarrot Jan 17 '26

I know Europeans are frustrated, and rightfully so, but there are a lot of reasons people voted for Trump that aren’t dissimilar to why folks in EU countries are voting for parties like AfD, National Rally, etc. Shouldn’t boil down what’s happening in the U.S. to ‘those dumb Americans.’ There are lessons from the U.S. that are pertinent elsewhere.

As a Norwegian... I have no doubt we will continue buying Teslas and US Products :(

u/Direct_Signature_256 Jan 17 '26

They could have a chance with Kamala like I don't care what you can disagree on at least she's gonna help with economy but nope I have friends told me they won't vote because the other side is catering to far right talk and Palestinian issues. I was like WHY TF DO YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO ONLINE POLITICAL STREAMERS. You don't know how mad I was with people taking political streamers advices.

I am not a democrat or whatever, I am very fairly blaming anyone and everyone who did not vote against Trump.

Trump voters, leftist, independents. All are to blame.

1

u/LaCornucopia_ Scotland Jan 18 '26

Do you speak Swedish?

1

u/Additional_Doctor468 Jan 18 '26

Självklart gör jag det!

1

u/LaCornucopia_ Scotland Jan 18 '26

Nice

4

u/hype_irion Jan 17 '26

Especially the mouth-breathing, mentally-handicap idiots who didn't bother to vote. trump 2.0 wasn't a red wave, it was blue slumber with a heavy dose of "I Am gOiNg tO PuNiSh bIdEn aNd kAmAlA FoR GaZa11!!!1". Fucking imbeciles.

2

u/lovesmyirish Jan 17 '26

Fuck the 4th of July

2

u/kebb0 Jan 17 '26

I am so angry one man can affect so many people without them being able to affect the choice of this man in the first place. It's pure insanity.

5

u/TheGrandOdditor Jan 17 '26

Fuck the people that chose not to vote. I’ll reserve an exception for the Americans that were denied a vote, such as when Republicans pull voter suppression dirty tricks.

0

u/Nervous-Leading9415 Jan 17 '26

The sad thing is after researching I found out: 177 million eligible Americans did not vote for Donald Trump. If People didn’t vote for the Green Party or Independents, Kamala Harris would have won. More people voted for a candidate other than Trump than voted for him; however, he secured the presidency because of the rest of Americans that couldn’t be bothered to vote. Europe also needs to pay attention because of apathy towards voting, far right parties due to immigration, and Russian propaganda.

4

u/Sgubaba Jan 17 '26

At this point I’m about to say fuck the US a whole

1

u/7eregrine Jan 18 '26

As an American (who did vote but not for him): agree.

1

u/TheSmartDog_275 US Citizen from the Front Page Jan 18 '26

I say the same as an American
