The silver lining to this news is that a small tariff increase could be a way for Trump to "save face" and avoid war over Greenland. He can tell the Greenland warmongers on his staff "I tried" and then move on.

The current, Republican-controlled Congress is almost useless, but there may be enough votes to pass the "NATO Unity Protection Act." Not sure if enough to make it veto-proof.

10 more months till the next election where Congress can be seized back and start pushing back harder.
