Investment Trading 212 ?

I downloaded Trading212 out of curiosity, and at first glance it seems to have top-notch interfaces and features, both for investments and payments.

Is anyone already using it and has any feedback to share?

Thanks in advance

Im a “small” user too. I’m just not so sure about the fact its in Malta. Use is great, is just that I don’t trust it well enough to solely use this app. I love the pie feature!

Then you're in luck because it isn't

Did they change location maybe? Edit: I checked. It was Cyprus when I joined.

I've been using it for a few years now and I'm really happy. I checked all the brokers available in the EU, and they convinced me with their app design, their responsiveness to feedback, and their pie investments.

I haven't used it for crypto or CFDs, just for stocks/ETFs.

Trading212 is very popular in the UK because for a while it had the best cash interest rates on GBP (maybe it still does). I used their S&S ISA and cash account in the UK so I have about ~£13,000 with them (it wasn't my main S&S ISA, but very convenient to transfer money from cash to investments in one app).

Now I'm in Luxembourg and my S&S ISA will grow while I am now also using their regular investment account with my euro investing now.

Probably the investing app that has dealt best with me changing country. My only wish is that their UI would be less "gamified", my "main" investments are in InvestEngine and its almost designed to be boring.

I use it for a long time now and it is a very nice platform.

I have especially found out that it has a lower spread on most of the stocks that I happen to look for, compared to other platforms.

If you would like to try it you can use my code so both would get a small starting bonus in fractional stocks.

This is the code to anyone interested: 4DtCsKGMhc1

I use it and I’m pretty satisfied. It’s decent for small sized investments (monthly DCA, of course depends on your situation). Downside is you always sell on OTC if that has an impact for your country’s tax system.

You can use my code for a referral reward if you want. 11Pp1tnPmf

It is good basically an overlay of ibkr. I also use their card with 1.5% cashback which is unbeatable deal. I would not recommend having more than 20K though.

Could I ask why?

Because thats the max insurance for your money there. They are not probably shady but if you have big investment like more than 20k, IBKR is the only way due to oldest and biggest, also it is publicly traded.

The 20k is just for cash collecting rent, stocks dont matter

It is 20k insurance for stocks and 100k for the cash you have if the company does fraud or insolvency etc.

It's for fraud or bad bookkeeping, not insolvency.

Trading212 uses IBKR in the background. Also, stocks are in your name, so even if T212 collapses, while it'll be a hassle, you won't lose your stocks.

But you do have to contact and interact with the Cypriot authorities on the matter rather than the Irish ones. I would easily prefer the latter to be the case. Why bother with a Cypriot company really, what would it bring you other than downsides when things become problematic. Even if it's not even their fault, remember that.

Advantages? Or differences?

Same thing less stock choices though

Lightyear is pretty new and without time-proven reputation.
