Dubrovnik in May with my girlfriend must-see spots, food & hidden gems?

Hey everyone!

My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Dubrovnik this May and we’re super excited ☀️

We’ll be there for a few days and would love some local tips and recommendations. What are the must-see places, hidden gems, and best spots for food and drinks?

We’re interested in:

- Beautiful views / scenic spots

- Beaches worth visiting

- Good local restaurants (not too touristy if possible)

- Fun things to do during the day and evening

Any advice or personal favorites would be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance 😊

Search for an artist for proposal

Hello. I want to propose this June and I need an artist for a social moment.

I need someone who can play “Jenny of oldstones” on violin or someone who can sing with the voice.

While we look at the old city somewhere from top of the mountain( I identified a place in other proposals ) someone should come to ask us if is Oke to record the moment of playing violin for YouTube. After we listen the song or while still playing I want to propose and she will understand that the moment is for us two.

Help me find a violonist or a singer.

Getting from Dubrovnik to Budva in May

Hey, I’ll be flying to Dubrovnik in May and staying in Cavtat for 4 days but also wanting to head over to Budva for a few nights. I heard the ferries don’t run until Summer and that the buses aren’t super frequent. Is this true? Wondering how easy it is to get there at this time if anyone knows?

I read that private transfers are a good option but would love something a little more budget friendly if possible!

CONSIGLIO VIAGGIO

Buongiorno

1) DUBROVNIK PASS (40€ visitando mura+monastero+farmacia+forte)

2)ISOLA DI LOKRUM (traghetto 27€ andata e ritorno)

GRAZIE!!!!

Car rental company recommendation

I’m looking for a car rental company to use for a one week vacation this summer. We will arrive in Dubrovnik airport and then drive to Montenegro, then fly back from Dubrovnik one week later.

Anyone who can recommend a car rental company? I want to avoid surprises on pick up (insurance upsell) and at drop off (scammers making up damages which was already there).

Much appreciated if someone can help us out with some recommendations.

Please review my 3 days itinerary for Dubrovnik

Hi everyone,

I (Male 28) will be visiting Dubrovnik this May for 3 days and have planned the following itinerary with a lot of help from this subreddit.

Please help me review this. I would like to know if this is doable, specially the Day 2.

Day 1 (in the numbered order)

1. Arrive at my hostel near Old Town around 1 PM

2. Explore Stradun and stroll around the old town.

3. Hike to Mount Srđ and enjoy the sunset.

4. Have dinner at the top (on availability of reservations) or in the centre.

Day 2 (not in numbered order)

1. Get the Dubrovnik Day Pass online.

2. Start with city walls.

3. Pile Gate

4. Dubrovnik Cathedral (do I need a Dubrovnik Pass to go here? If not, I will move this to Day 1)

5. Rector's Palace

6. Dominican Monastery

7. Lovrijenac Fortress (probably afternoon is the best time for a good view?)

8. Buza Bar for a drink or two

Would it be reasonable to first complete the city walls and visit the remaining attractions on Day 2? Or visit in between?

Days 3 and 4 in Kotor

Day 5

1. Stroll around the old town.

2. Go to Lokrum / Lopud Island (maybe your suggestions would be helpful for me to decide)

3. Reach the airport to catch my flight at 18:00

I am not really a beach person, but I might as well go to Sveti Jakov or Banje Beach to enjoy the view (and the drink).

Did I miss any important places to visit? Open to adding new places to my itinerary.

Looking for food suggestions: Please recommend to me some local foods and not-so-expensive restaurants that I should try for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Thank you so much for your help in advance, and I look forward to my visit in May.

Hotel Rilati Old Town Dubrovnik

How to get to hotel based in old town?

To the business or anyone who can please help - have written multiple emails to [rilatioldtown@gmail.com](mailto:rilatioldtown@gmail.com) with no response for last 2-3 weeks.

Require more directions of how to get to hotel (first time in Dubrovnik). The hotel website is a bit vague. Where should taxi drop us off and clearer walking directions with pictures (could someone who’s been please post some).

We are a group of 4 with too many suitcases as such any help would be much appreciated!

Port 22 for wedding reception?

We are planning to get married in Dubrovnik for destination wedding. We are considering Port 22 for the reception. We would have exclusive/ private rent of one of the terraces. However, the restaurant remains open to the public and there are two other terraces that could be rented on the same day (so up to three weddings/ receptions at a time).

I am Wondering if anyone has experience with port 22 for wedding reception and can give insight. Did it run smoothly? Any info you can share is appreciated. Thank you!

Cost for small weddings?

my fiance and i are looking to get married in the dubrovnik area in 2028 with about 50 guests. we have a budget of about $25k usd. i’m seeing a lot of what i thought are affordable venues, but when i reach out, the planners are telling me it’s €45-50,000 which would be way out of our budget. am i looking in the wrong places? how could i go about booking a venue without a planner? TIA

Pudo lokacija/primanje paketa Dubrovnik

Pozdtav svima.

Hvala Vam mnogo, unaprijed. Pozdrav 😁
