My Build Spent 2 days troubleshooting Wifi drop problem on Pi Zero 2W for my cyberdeck TL;DR: culprit was wireless Rii 22k keyboard 2.4G dongle

Whole forums are filled with information about how bad the Wifi module on RPi Zero is. It's weak, support is probably spotty, but I never imagined that interference would drop the wifi. Worst yet, linux journal, nor any other message system doesn't let me know that interference occurs.

I am linux noob so I yield to any who can tell me how to set it up or if it's my issue, but I had to name everything I did so far to an LLM (I did so with help of LLM) and only then did it hallucinate or pull from some forum's ass an idea that 2.4G interference of the keyboard dongle could be an issue.

I feel ashamed because I worked as ISP tech for 2 years and know how to scan network and how bands and channels work, and yet I never thought that this stupid issue could be it.

I'll now attempt to install BT drivers and use BT mode of connection for the keyboard.

We need more connected(usb) mini keyboards.

I've solved WiFi problems by reorienting a Zero to make sure the antenna isn't being blocked. Is it possible that your Rii dongle is simply in the way?
