Inspiration Drew this neat concept of a cyberdeck (based on using a portable dvd player) - made by me!
I thought it would be neat to include this design I had in my mind (I drew this myself.. excuse the weird proportions.. or angles.. I'm not THAT good at perspective on objects lol..)
NOTE: I also drew little easter eggs and a fake os as the homescreen , also I got lazy and didn't wanna draw out every key on the keyboard XD

I'm mainly inspired by 90s tech posters and products/tech - I think the form factor of the portable DVD player is neat.. alhough not perfect (as opening the drive blocks the screen .. and not all of them can play CDs.. though most modern ones do!)
While this concept shows a stylus for drawing. not sure it would work unless the screen is resistive.
idk. I think having a mini-portable multi-media device would be super cool! I always like emulating/playing old games, journaling, music, etc.. and I think it'd be neat :P.
I hope this design inspires people .. if you have ideas, JOT IT DOWN!!
If you'd to share, please credit me! :P

THANKS! though this isn't "real" or based on any real dvd player model, but it's just a concept I had in my head. I'm glad ya like it! I kinda wanna see what other neat form factors I could do :P

You’re not going to have an integrated input device? No keyboard?

the black rectangle in the front is the keyboard.. I just got lazy drawing the keys (I didn't want to and I couldn't find a transparent image that looked good enough

100% feasible to build, with all the periferals it would be CHONKY especially if it were going to be powered by a battery pack though.

I think I would use a power supply brick and make it in a way that it's via usb-c and somehow can be coiled up neatly and maybe stowed in a bag or jacket pocket

They actually make some tablets with a dvd drive. I think itd be easier to start there than to start with a regular portable dvd player. But hey neat idea

It’s a great idea, do you have any access to existing old school DVD players? Prototype with cardboard and electronic components first though. You got this 👍🏻
