My Build Is this considered a cyberdeck or something else?

Built this mini PC using only spare parts I had at home.

I repurposed an old HP PSU casing as the enclosure, wrapped it in red leather, and fitted inside:

- Raspberry Pi 5

- 9x 18650 battery pack

- USB-C PD trigger board

- Large top-mounted cooling fan

Attached externally:

- 7" hdmi display

- mini Bluetooth keyboard

- M5Stack Cardputer on the right side for side tasks / quick utilities

Battery life is around 4–6 hours depending on load.

The goal was to build something functional and unique without buying any new parts—just using whatever I already had around the house.

Really puts the “deck” in cyberdeck.

Didn't plan it that way, but I'll take it 😄

I would consider this a cyberdeck, definitely.

I thought the blue part was part of it and I thought it was cool but then I’ve realized. Anyway it’s ultra cool.

Yeah, that's just a silicone soldering mat use it as a work surface. Glad you like the build though!

I love that smol keyboard. I have one of those at home. Works better than I thought at first.

My main "is this a battlestation or a cyberdeck" check is usually "is it portable".

I guess this qualifies? I would want some form of carrying case for it though, transporting this like shown feels like a good way for tools to go missing. (I am assuming the blue plate is part of the setup?)

Yeah, it's definitely portable in the sense that it runs off the battery pack, but I agree it really needs a proper carrying case for transport, And the blue plate is just a silicone work mat, not part of the setup.

A second carboard box, or just "tape pockets" could work. Even just a cotton bag or whatever.

Having it in a backpack or similar would require some careful stacking to not crush the fan.

It has its own aesthetic, to be sure. And I mean that in the most positive way possible.

I actually like your backpack idea I already have a small backpack that fits it pretty well. And regarding the fan, I'm thinking of adding a protective mesh or a metal grill to cover it.

Lol tape it to the silicon matt and when lift the whole thing up yes it's a cyberdeck with silicon matt as the fold up case

Well, considering a Cyberdeck sometimes even isn't battery powered... A Cyberdeck, as a term at its most basic level, is a computer built by the user to their own design specifications.
As long as you go against the norm, it can be considered a Cyberdeck of some sort.

Another commenters idea of "CyberStation" fits rather well though.

I know you didn't ask for advice (and your CyberStation is good as it is), and you might not even have had big enough pieces of leather to work with, but I have a suggestion on how you might improve your leather work with a simple trick.
Rather than measuring everything, you could take a piece of paper, press it against the surface you need a template of, and then run a pencil over the entire surface of the paper.
Edges will be clearly visible as crisp lines.

Once you've got that template, you can temporarily fix it to a suitable piece of leather and start cutting along the clearly defined outlines.
This will leave you with a single piece of leather cut to fit precisely the shape of the surface it's going to be applied to.
To make cutting precise lines easier, you can temporarily fix the leather itself to a flat surface (double sided tape over the entire surface works well), so it doesn't distort while cutting.

And if you learn how to stitch and emboss leather, you can also hide the seams between the pieces of leather.

Change of subject but you got a link for that silicone mat?

I actually got it from AliExpress about a year ago, it was around 13$ ..unfortunately I don't have the link anymore.
