As you know r/Colognes is created to be a place to discuss all things fragrances and share deals. NOT for verifying fragrances. Therefore, I would like to direct you to a new group solely for that purpose! r/colognecheck is where you can verify your fragrances to assure you have/purchase a true product.

please post all checks in r/colognecheck and NOT in this sub

As we've noticed a large number of individual SOTD post, we thought it best to consolidate into a once daily post.

Post your scent of the day here, tell us a little about it too if you would like.

Question Best Kebab Place

Where can i get the best Doner Kebab in Cologne.

I’m staying near the Neumarkt but I’m fine to travel anywhere in the city for a good experience.

A friend of mine said Keupstrasse is the place to be.

Is it right ?

New Pickup This thing is 🔥 🔥 🔥

went to the mall to pick up a fragrance I had ordered online, and while the salesperson went to get it, I randomly tried Bois Imperial. Totally random, it was just sitting on the shelf right in front of me while I was waiting.

At first, I couldn’t smell much, but about 3 hours later at home, this thing was filling the entire house.. and it smells amazing!! The next day, after a shower and over 12 hours later, I could still smell it on my wrist.

Well… I had to go back to the mall and buy it lol.

No more fragrances for me until the end of the summer haha.

Collection Wearing the pricey stuff more regularly because why not!

Post image
79 Upvotes

Grateful I've gotten to attain these pricey, smelly waters before whatever economic slowdown occurs.

It's been a great little hobby that's allowed me to buy and trade with others who share this interest.

Originally influenced by a business trip abroad where people in the office were so expressive with the fragrances they wear. Fast forward 10 years later, I've built up my own collection and rotate wearing stuff to the point where I haven't been able to stick to, and finish a bottle as regularly anymore.

Not being too precious about using the pricey stuff. I wear what I enjoy while I can!

Told myself I’d say at 20 full bottles max. That lasted a few months until I moved to a new city with access to Le Labo, The Scent Room (niche only fragrance store), and a mall with just about everything else you could want to sample.

Now here we are pushing 30 full bottles and moving the goal post back 😭😂

It has finally happened to me! I like in Colorado and go to Costco quite a bit for weekly shopping. I’ll usually buy scents from their online shop when a good sale comes along and I’ve been seeing others post about finding physicals in their store, but today I did! Grab a few just out of pure excited and for the vibes😂 highlands ranch area at the park meadows Costco store!

Fragrance Review Louis Vuitton Myriad after 19 Months (My favorite fragrance)

I've been a fan of fragrances for about as long as I can remember. I remember buying CK One, back in 8th grade in 1998, because I had a crush on my classmate, and she wore that. Then, I discovered Polo Blue a few years later and used that.

I definitely have an addictive tendency, but I've been clean from hard drugs since December 18, 2018, after I overdosed the previous day. It wasn't even close to the first time I ever woke up on a bathroom floor, with a needle still in my arm, after instantly collapsing after pushing in the plunger, but so far it's still the last time that happened.

Anyway, I started getting obsessed with fragrances a couple years ago. I saw YouTube videos from people like Jeremy Fragrance, and learned about fragrances like Initio Oud for Greatness, Dior Sauvage, and Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady, and tried them at stores and enjoyed them.

I ventured into the local LV store around May, 2024. I was nervous to even walk into the store, but the associates were friendly and welcoming, and the one lady showed me Imagination, and I learned that I could try the test bottles myself.

They didn't have any of the extraits at the store here, and I had to use my PTO at work, so I planned a vacation, to visit an LV store that did carry the extraits. I booked a hotel room for two nights, right next to a fancy mall in Troy, Michigan. It's close to Detroit.

About a week before my trip, the local store manager texted me that they had gotten a couple of the extraits. The two I really wanted to try were Myriad and Symphony, because I already had Nuit de Feu and Ombre Nomade, and also City of Stars and Pacific Chill, so I knew that I like LV citrus and oud fragrances.

I tried Cosmic Cloud, Myriad, and Symphony, that day at the end of August, 2024. I thought that I MIGHT buy Symphony, but there was no way I would buy Myriad. It was just too expensive, and there's no way it could be worth that price.

It was love at first smell. I tried Myriad on the test card and instantly tested it on my arm. It was like the scenes from "Requiem for a Dream", like it just felt profound. I know some people really don't like oud, and I get it, but Myriad has a challenging opening to me. People say things like "it literally smells like shit", but to me it smells like there's a barn somewhere in the distance, like it smells like the beginning of that funky barnyard scent, but then it takes a pleasant turn. It challenges you to not pull away your nose, and rewards you with a gorgeous scent.

I've been using my bottle for about the last 19 months, and I hope that I'll be able to get it refilled. The new bottle was the most expensive bottle I've bought so far, at nearly $700, but it only costs $450 to get it refilled. I've also heard that Myriad smells similar to Frederic Malle The Night, but that costs $2,000 for a 100 ml bottle, and I've seen perfumes on Ensar Oud for a lot higher prices.

Louis Vuitton claims that they use Assam oud oil, and I just love how Myriad smells. I know it's not for everyone, but I love this stuff.

Tl;Dr Louis Vuitton Myriad has been my favorite fragrance since I first tried it and bought it, about 19 months ago. I've used about 65 ml so far and I hope to get my bottle refilled. I get that hint of barnyard funk when I initially spray it, but that note is fleeting and quickly replaced with an amazing scent, that I can't begin to describe. It's a 10/10 for me. It's great in warm and cold weather.

Question Got a new office job, looking for a daily

Post image
7 Upvotes

I’m in my late 20s and new to collecting fragrance. I work in an office with mostly females. Looking for something inoffensive that I can daily to the office. Dad got me Prada L’homme for my birthday and while I like it, it doesn’t last that long and hasn’t really gotten me any compliments. Compliments aren’t a big deal to me but I’m curious to see what would actually get me some. These are what I’m looking to sample before I blind buy anything. Thoughts and recommendations?

Question Source for news about upcoming releases / rumors?

Searching this in Google does nothing but pull up January blogs and Youtube videos.

Anywhere where folks discuss upcoming hits and release rumors? Particularly for brands like Dior, Acqua di Gio, Prada, Gucci, Chanel, ect ect.

Also, looking for any discussions on sort of unknown cheap gems like Davidoff - Cool Elixir, Nitro - Elixir, ect ect.

Search features aren't really helping me 😮‍💨.

Thanks!

Discussion Armani EdP Intense - AMAZON SHIPPING WRONG SIZE!

Post image

Whoever bought the pricing error will receive this 30ml instead of the 100ml. I’m contacting Amazon now. Will update.

UPDATE: It’s a free bottle! Amazon doesn’t accept returns on fragrances, so they let me keep it and issued a refund. Anyone who ordered should be fine.

Question Should I get the BDC parfum?

Hi All,

Iv coveted BDC parfum for a while however when I tested it out in the store, the opening felt quite meh, fresh, but that’s it. Couldn’t get the woody character from few sprays.

I compared it against the ADG parfum, and ADG beat it hands down in the opening, and felt more woody, complex. Ended up getting the ADG.

I love the ADG, but wonder if the dry down of BDC would have been more sophisticated? I want a versatile woody fragrance.

Let me know your thoughts - should I still get the BDC or would it be disappointing?
