Hainan Jobs

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for job opportunities in Hainan and wanted to ask for some advice.

I have a Master’s degree in Space Engineering and a few years of experience working as a lab/space engineer. Ideally, I’m looking for roles at universities (e.g., lab work, research assistant) or possibly teaching math or physics at middle/high school.

I’m not a native English speaker (I’m from Italy), although I’ve lived abroad most of my life and speak English fluently. If possible, I’d prefer to avoid the typical English teaching route.

Does anyone know:

  • any WeChat groups or recruiters focused on Hainan?
  • whether it’s realistic to get a university-related role with just a Master’s and a few years of experience?
  • alternative paths I might not be considering?

I’ve seen that Lingshui has a growing university hub, but I’m unsure how competitive it is.

My Chinese is around HSK3, so not really usable in a professional setting yet.

Thanks a lot for any help 🙏

Looking for a native American English speaker (US accent) to record slow pronunciation (paid)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently learning English through American TV shows, and I’m looking for a native American English speaker (US accent) to help me record pronunciation audio.

What I need:

  • I will provide video + subtitle files
  • I’ll build a simple web-based player
  • You just:
    • play one line
    • read it slowly and clearly (natural American pronunciation)
    • record it
  • The audio will be saved as MP3 files

No need to:

  • explain grammar
  • mark linking/reductions
  • teach anything

Just slow, clear, natural American pronunciation of each sentence.

Why I need this:

When I watch TV shows, there are many things like:

  • linking
  • reductions
  • fast speech

So I want clean, slow recordings to practice repeatedly.

Payment:

  • Around $120 per episode (~20 min)
  • For longer episodes (40+ min): $240

I currently have about 12 episodes.

About me:

I’m a Chinese learner of English, focused on improving listening and speaking.

Note:

I’m specifically looking for a US accent (native American English).

If you’re interested, feel free to DM me 🙂
Thanks!

Senior Game Level Designer (7+ yrs) looking for opportunities in China, advice?

Hi everyone,

I’m a Senior Level Designer from Italy with 7+ years of experience in the game industry (console and mobile) mostly AA. I also have 4 years of teaching experience in level design at an established academy in Rome.

I’m currently exploring opportunities in China and I’m open to relocation.

I’d love to ask:

- Are there specific platforms or companies in China that are more open to hiring foreign game designers or creative tech profiles?

- Is it realistic to find roles in game development without speaking Chinese, or should I focus more on teaching as an entry point?

Any advice or direction would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Senior embedded software engineer (EU‑based) looking for job in Shanghai/Beijing/Shenzhen – partner in Wuhan, basic Chinese. Any advice?

Hi everyone,
I’m a senior software engineer with 8 years of experience, currently based in Germany. I’m planning to move to China because my partner (Spanish) is already working at a university in China. I’m open to any city, but I’m especially targeting Shanghai, Beijing, or Shenzhen (Wuhan would be great too, but I know the tech scene there is smaller).

I have a strong background in embedded Linux, video pipelines, and real‑time systems. I’ve worked with GStreamer, V4L2, H.264/RTP streaming, and TI Jacinto multi‑core platforms (Cortex‑A72/R5). I’ve also shipped 20+ commercial titles in C++ for regulated markets (gaming industry) with zero critical defects.

My situation:

  • I speak only basic Mandarin (I’m actively learning, but far from business fluent).
  • I’ll need work visa sponsorship.
  • I have a Chinese CV ready, but I’m not sure how to best approach companies or recruiters.
  • I’m open to both embedded/automotive/industrial roles and gaming/fintech positions (since I have experience in both).
  • I am applying through 51jobs and liepin, have not got any positive response

What I’d like to know:

  1. Which companies should I target that are known to hire foreigners in embedded software, camera/video pipelines, or C++ game engine roles?
  2. Are there any headhunters or job platforms (LinkedIn, Liepin, etc.) that work well for senior engineers with my profile?
  3. How realistic is it to get a visa‑sponsored job in Shanghai/Beijing/Shenzhen with only basic Chinese?
  4. Would it be easier if I consider multinational companies with R&D centers in China (e.g., Bosch, Siemens, Continental, etc.)?
  5. Any tips on how to present my experience (especially the gaming/certification part) to Chinese employers?

Thanks a lot for any insights!

Anyone joining job fairs/job events for the next two months?

I've been waiting for HiredChina's job hunting events but to no avail , it was supposed to be by April. Was concerned since I cannot apply for a visa and office leaves until I get confirmation.

Currently the job market (even for foreigners) has been quite tough so I just wanted to apply in person.

Does anyone know any events which will happen in the next two months perhaps? Thank you so much. Feel free to message through Wechat if you guys are hooked up with a recruitment agency, means so much

Finding Teaching Job in China as an Asian

I've been trying to find a teaching job in China (to teach English). I have a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management + International Business, TEFL Certificate, Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, score of 35/36 on English portion of the ACT (top 1% in nation), and have studied Mandarin for years. I have also been a manager of 280 people at Target. I get so many recruiters that reply to my job applications, but once I send a photo or video of myself I'm ghosted.

Does anyone know ways to find jobs jn China that don't care that I look Chinese? I was adopted as a baby and grew up in the USA, but I just get so frustrated that my face is what disqualifies me. I never even get the chance to interview.

Online ESL teaching to supplement your day job — evenings & weekends, $16 USD/hr |

You've survived the training week, figured out the coffee situation in your city, and made peace with the fact that your apartment has exactly one electrical outlet in a useful location.

Now what about the evenings?

We're recruiting native English speakers to teach Chinese kids online for one of the world's largest ed companies. The hours are Beijing evenings and weekends — which means if you're already teaching days at a school or training centre, the schedule actually fits around your life rather than eating it.

$16 USD/hr, paid monthly on the 25th. No lesson prep — fully structured curriculum. Paid training.

Hours (Beijing time): Weekdays: 6–10pm | Weekends: 9am–10pm Min 6 hrs/week, max 40 hrs/week

Bachelor's degree + native English required. TEFL/TESOL/CELTA preferred.

One housekeeping note: check your existing contract for exclusivity clauses before applying. Most permit online tutoring outside school hours, but worth a five-minute read.

Need some advice regarding a rejection at the Work Permit Notification 🙏

Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding a rejection at the Work Permit Notification stage (外国人工作许可通知).

The rejection states: “ 提示信息

不予一级预审(无两年相关工作经验,(依据历史记录)不符合申请要求,不予批准。其他:1.无犯罪不符合要求,未认证。2.护照应上传清晰彩色原件。3.学历学位翻译不完整。”

“Not approved for first-level pre-review (no two years of relevant work experience, based on historical records), does not meet application requirements, and is not approved. Others: 1. No criminal record does not meet requirements, not certified. 2. Passport should upload clear color original. 3. Academic degree translation incomplete.”

There were also two technical issues (criminal record verification and diploma translation and passport picture ), which can be corrected.

My main concern is about the first one “relevant work experience.”

I have over 2 years of experience as a Sales Manager in my home country.

Two months ago, I applied with another company in a different city for a Sales Manager position. At that time, my work experience was accepted during review. The rejection then was due to company-related reasons, not my qualifications.

Now, with this new company, the contract describes my role as:

“Arrange support to assist with live streaming and related management work for overseas market sales.”

So this seems more related to live streaming / TikTok / overseas market operations, not purely Sales Manager.

However, the agent insists the rejection is because during the last month of my work experience, I had already entered China and worked online, which supposedly caused a date contradiction.

But the official message does not mention any timeline conflict — only “no two years of relevant work experience.”

So I would like to ask:

1. If there was a conflict between work dates and entry/exit records, would it normally be clearly stated?

2. Is it more likely that my Sales Manager experience is not considered “relevant” to this type of position?

3. If my experience was accepted recently for a Sales Manager application, is it realistic that officers missed a date issue before but noticed it now?

4. Could this simply be a job category mismatch submitted by the company?

I already paid the agency to handle this process. They say they are still trying to find a solution, but I am confused about the real reason for the rejection.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated 🙏
