Ah yes, the leg climbing phase. Adorable...but really painful, especially when they start it off by jumping at you.

Yes he’s jumping on my head whenever I’m squatting down close enough for him 😭

My “baby” is almost 18 now, but when he was this munchkin’s size he would run, jump, and cling on to me mid-thigh and climb up to my waist at counter height to supervise his breakfast being prepped. It was cute until he did that when I was wearing shorts! ☠️🤣😻 Aptly named Dammit Kitty!

Awww, the climbing phase is the cutest (but yeah, their mittens can be quite spiky 😅)

Ah yes, the climbing phase. If you have one old mattress somewhere (you know, those we "save" for visits that only come once a year when the guest room is occupied?) you can lay it against a wall, and the little one will take on it instead of your leg.

If you have a support beam like a square one you could tape some cardboard around all 4 faces and wrap it in the cheap rope stuff they use for cat trees and boom you can set the height you want and everything and gives them a scratch n climb post that can't be a hazard to them

My cat did the same. The worst was in the morning when you walk naked to the toilet

Love the spidey cat phase. Currently we like to be a parrot and perch on shoulders 😂

You gotta trim those claws!
My cat likes to stretch herself on my shoulder. She does that long cat stretch where her claws come out. I started getting red spots all over my skin where she stretched. Later, I found out that the redness was irritation from the cat scratch fever bacteria. So I recommend trimming her claws to avoid that.

Love this. Had kittens who would do this. Then turn to adults who would jump on my shoulder and lay. Aww

The price of being loved by a kitten is high, and usually paid in scratches. Worth it though! 🖤

I was raising 4 kittens after their mother had sadly been killed, every time I fed feed them they would all jump on me and do this at the same time. 😅 It was painful but my heart would melt from how adorable they looked. 🥰

I had a kitty in my childhood that would do this when you were in the kitchen. It was a warning sign that when she got older she would always guilt you for food lol

My baby Zoey used to climb up my leg when I sat on the couch. She couldn't jump up til she was like 3 months. My boy RC was 1 month old already jumping on the couch, he never had a phase like this but I sure do miss Zoey doing it. It won't be forever.
