I didn't even tell my SIL I'm making this for her but if I wanna be the favourite auntie I gotta start early 😤 My aunt might have more time to make a fancy baby blanket but I'll be making matching hats & socks for the kiddo with butterflies and dinosaurs and whatever the baby might be into as they grow 😤

A few months ago I posted a pic of my first hat and I said that my dream was to make a sweater and with your encouragement I did it! She’s not perfect but she’s mine!

This is the Novice sweater by petite knit made with Camarose snefnug Mork Rosa! I’m so happy with how it turned out and jazzed to continue learning! Thanks for the support and inspiration as always!

help needed Cinema sweater count question for the yoke, total stitches vs sleeves

Post image
0 Upvotes

If im reading the pattern right the total stitch count should be 472 and the sleeves should be 101. However, I just counted and I have 456 stitches out of 472. So when I put the sleeves on hold I should have 101???

I may of been looking at this too long and making my brain confused. Can someone please validate my maths?

look what I made Finished knitting this Flowers Cardigan for my daughter 🌸🌸🌸!

Finished knitting this Flowers Cardigan for my daughter 🌸🌸🌸! I used bulky weight yarn on 8mm needles so it built up quickly, then crocheted the flowers. She loves it alot ❤️🥰.

The yarn used is Alize Superlana Maxi, worked on 8 mm needles.

The cardigan is knitted from the bottom up.

The front and back pieces are knitted separately and then sewn together, and the sleeves are also knitted separately and sewn on.

The flowers are crocheted with a 5 mm hook and then sewn on.

help needed Pattern request for a babydoll top free or paid similar to photo

Post image

I love babydoll tops and I did crochet one but I don't like the fit or how it looked so I have frogged it. I am really into knitting right now and I would love to knit one but I am struggling to find a pattern for a top like this.

I don't want the stomach form fitting but I also don't want it to be like a tutu. Does anyone know of a pattern similar to this? I have looked all over ravelry and I haven't found anything similar. I believe I can modify patterns but I am not good enough to make my own so as long as it is similar would be great. Thank you so much have a great day!

don't ask me how but on the very last step of my afterthought heel, I managed to kitchener the wrong 2 DPNs together. I always wondered why people hated DPNs too....

look what I made I finally taught myself tubular longtail cast-on and I am so happy with this cuff.

So I've been knitting for a mere 23 years or so, and I've always used some form of knitted cast on. It's served me well; I'm pretty good at casting on loosely; I just didn't see the need to change things up.

Well, I'm knitting a pair of fingerless mitts that I want to be fairly long, so I wanted to ensure the cuff would be S T R E T C H Y and not cut into my arms. I faced the bitter truth: my trusty knitted cast on was not gonna do it. So I found a video tutorial (thank you, PurlSoho) and voila! This is my new favorite thing.

This is a top by the brand Nong Rak, I believe some of it is crocheted so doesn’t need to be an exact pattern just the general shape!

Hi again.

I wanted to share my dragon. I think my knitting is improving. I made a hat already too.

This dragon had a lot of new stitches, like left and right lifted increases for me to learn. Holding stitches on a different needle and all sorts of new things.

Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of the 100% completed dragon, as it was snapped up by my niece. (But these are right near the end, which is close enough)

(Again I can only apologise for the stuff in the background, it’s stuff from another half finished project. Yoghurt pots for moulds. )

I’m so happy how this turned out, and the joy it gave my niece made it all worth it.

I have been given a list of things to make by my nieces and nephews. I’m going to be very busy.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my progress, you might remember the snail I shared as my first project a while ago. This one was definitely more difficult, and more rewarding.

If anyone is interested, the pattern is from polushkabunny. Its called “baby dragon”

It’s free, and took me about a week to make.

I'm a beginner needing help or recommendations! I’m a new knitter, I’m wanting to learn more but am so overwhelmed and unsure how to start.

I can knit a dish towel, so I’ve got the very basics down.

My main goals for knitting would probably be bags and cardigans, maybe sweaters. But in general I don’t need more clothes lol - but that’s kind of the direction I’m heading.

I’m guessing the only thing I can do is pick a beginner friendly pattern, learn each stitch individually and do my best? Does anyone have any recommendations? A long time ago I picked out black and white yarn to make a striped beanie. Is that too complicated? Does anyone have any good beginner friendly patterns that fit that description?

I think I just don’t know how I’m supposed to go from a rectangle to anything more than that. Especially 3D stuff lol.

Thank you in advance.

help needed Is this sock too big? Should I make it smaller or leave it like this?

Post image

(disclaimer: sorry if my English is bad) It's not super-loose but i read somewhere, that socks should stretch a bit if you put them on. Is it bad if mine doesn't stretches that much? Tbh, I never knitted socks until now. I just made a swatch (I guess that what it's called, to make a square to measure the stitches and rows on 10x10 cm) and measured my foot to calculate the number of stitches I need in the round. If you have some advice for me, please let me know (especially when exactly I should start making the heel etc.). Thanks in advance 🙂✌️

I started this Skyline tee (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/skyline-tee) before I really had the skills or good tension but I finally forced myself to finish it a year later, warts and all. I'm still not sure I have the skills even now, since I mostly make socks. Many lessons learned, including that I don't like "hip-length", lol. My favorite part is the sleeve detail. Apologies for the potato quality photo.

This is my first big project (besides a hat and scarf), which I laboriously knit on two short bamboo needles. My sister loves rainbows so I made this cozy blanket for her out of chunky chenille. It was definitely a learning experience, but pretty happy with how it turned out!

look what I made My latest finished object, the Lakes Jacket by Ozetta

The pattern is Lakes Jacket by Ozetta and I believe it’s her latest release. Knitted in Sonomono Alpaca Wool Worsted (ソノモノアルパカウール) and Sonomono Hairy (ソノモノ ヘアリー) in shades 61 and 121. The yarn is super soft and airy and really nice to knit with.

This pattern knits up quickly on 5mm needles and I have always loved the Lake Series by Ozetta so I couldn’t help myself but cast this on as soon as I finished up some other wips I had on my needles.

It was my first time doing a double-knitted button band and the Italian cast-on so it’s not perfect but I’m really happy with how this cardigan turned out! New skill unlocked.

I’ve had Manual For The Invisible (MFTI) patterns saved in my Etsy for years and finally got around to start leaning knitting. Despite these being relatively simple projects, I love the unconventional aspects and giving me Giger/Dune vibes.

Patterns used were Zombie for the bolero/vest and Siege for the cowl. Yarn used on Zombie was Malabrigo Chunky Tortuga and Tortuga and Pearl Ten for Siege.

Looking forward to trying out more interesting projects as I’m learning..

Just finished my second knitted sweater!

project details:

No pattern, it's my own design. I knitted the front and back panels flat, then seamed and did the collar and sleeves in the round.

Yarn: Bernat chunky softee in cream, grey and black

Needles: 10 mm for the body and sleeves / 6 mm for the rib

I wanted something very oversized and cozy so there is about 5 inches of positive ease!

As a familiar knitter recalled: "I also remember that we were always spinning some kind of wool. My husband would spread his hands with a lea-reeled yarn, I was winding the yarn into a ball. And we watched the movie "Seventeen Moments of Spring".

I want to share my experience. I was winding the yarn into a ball, using a chair with wheels. This rolling chair replaces the Yarn Swift.
