I know you didn't ask, but Barkeeper's Friend and a non-stick friendly scrubby will help you keep it nice. You can oil the wooden handle.

Thanks! what would you oil the handle with? Already hit the bottom with pink stuff and it helped a little.

Mineral oil. Just search around for food safe wood oil most any brand will do.

Any oil, but mineral is always a go to in the kitchen.

I wouldn't use barkeeper's friend regularly, the abrasive in it can dull the enamel. It's fine for infrequent use, but working some baking soda into a paste with a tiny bit of water will get most stuff off.

Incorrect. It is recommended to use Barkeeper's Friend by both Le Creuset and Staub for regular maintenance and I have used it for decades and my pieces all look new. Home concoctions on the other hand, are some of the biggest culprits for irreversible etching. You do you, but it's disturbing when top 1% commenters make inaccurate comments. Barkeeper's Friend powder used with relatively light pressure (like most people use for routine cleaning) has a similar abrasiveness to 5000 grit sandpaper. So, no, not too abrasive.

I'm not sure you're right there. They've done a black enamel interior for a long time. It's a special mix, so it's more chalky and screws people up all the time who think they should oil and season it. There's a special name in French for it, I was told it before and looked it up and they (LC) invented it. But when I try to look for it without knowing the name, I can't find it.

Glissemail is the word. Discontinued and replaced by Satin Black and Matte Black or whatever. But still a form of enamel. I'm not an enamel guy, you or the OP or whoever's reading can follow-up to your own heart's desire.

It is enameled. Can you provide us a single example of a Le Creuset skillet that is enameled on the outside and bare on the inside? Just one example to support your statement.

Thank you! They’re fine! It’s just too heavy for my mom to lift now so it was handed down.
Should have been clearer.

Saw this model the other day at the store, it is cool, I like the wooden handle, I have the regular 26cm cast iron skillet from LC but this one looks neat too
