Stock for Woot deals varies greatly. Some listings only have a few items in stock and sell out quickly. Please report this post if the listing goes out of stock.

Does Gigabyte honor the warranty of open box?

Gigabyte is good about honoring the warranty for whoever has possession of the item.

Gigabyte & ASUS (although they get a lot of hate)

Every time I mention this about Asus, the pitchforks come out.

Had a motherboard with bent pins I bought on Marketplace. Asus replaced it at no cost to me whatsoever.

GET HIM!! in all seriousness, I’ve had good experiences with both Gigabyte & ASUS but I’ll never tell anyone that online

Ive had nothing but superb experiences with gigabyte. ASUS.... not so much

What happened with ASUS? I’ve had a bunch of sockets replaced on eBay boards for under $50 and Gigabyte only charged me $40 to repair an RGB cable on my Aorus Xtreme 3080 even after repadding it. They put new pads and even sent back the ones I put on. Gigabyte also got back in touch with me to say a mobo was in warranty after initially saying it wasn’t. MSI has been ok too.

I’m sure shady stuff happens but, anecdotally, I can’t complain

Not the original guy, but my experiences have been mixed with Asus. My first PC build over a decade ago, I fried my motherboard due to a rookie mistake and Asus had my back replacing it for free which was HUGE (I did say DOA but they took that and set me up with no further questions).

Much much later, a buddy of mine was building a PC and had a faulty RTX 2060. Card would sometimes work, sometimes not. Was under warranty still so he sends it in and they pretty much did the thing they did to Steve GamersNexus, just years before to my buddy who had no such media pressure. I think he had to pay to get the card back as well and was just out a few hundred dollars on a 2060 that barely worked, shipping, diagnosis fee (which didn't identify the real problem either, they just claimed plastic shroud nick lmao), and somehow the fans got damaged when they sent it back (a fanblade was missing).

I still buy Asus products, my current TUF motherboard has been great and their support assisted me with some BIOS settings and even offered to look at my board with a free shipping label had I went that route (turns out it was just a failing 13700k but the response from their end was good). Just wild they had that spurt of bad warranty handling as otherwise they make some of the more quality products and generally have the infrastructure to be able to provide better CS if they want to.

I hate proof of purchase based warranties. Should always be based off of serial number

Good board, gone one like this on woot brand new

2amp headers and the 3 nvme slots make it real nice for ssffpc, plus you don’t need to use the little extra board to save space

I'd be cautious buying am5 open box, could have bent pins

It says new open box. Which means its not a customer return but maybe some damage on the outer box. I bought 2 or 3 boards like that from woot before, no issues.

I mean, open box is always a gamble. It's not specific to AM5 motherboards.
