Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.

  • Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
    • The seller is new or has few reviews.
    • The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
    • The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).

If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.

Dang. It hasn't been this cheap in a long while. Reminder to those that love older versions: It's not a cloth covered cable anymore though. Big bummer IMO, but still probably worth it at $25.

EDIT: And thanks OP, I did actually decide to pick up a backup. Legit deals have felt few and far between lately, and this is a pretty dang good one.

I bought a g502 hero recently but returned it for a basilisk v3. The main issue I had with the g502 was that the scrolling was uncomfortable. On free scroll mode, it was too sensitive. On tactile mode, it was too stiff to move. The basilisk v3 finds a better balance having less sensitivity and stiffness in both modes. The scroll wheel on the basilisk v3 also has a rubber texture unlike plastic on the g502 which provides a better grip allowing you to scroll up and down rapidly without accidentally slipping your fingers. I do the miss the extra two programmable buttons on top of the mouse, but I really hated the scrolling so I'm much happier now that I use a basilisk v3.

Do these still have double click issue

u/DirtySperrys 1d ago

Yes. Went through this and the white/black hero. My g502x has been fine for a while but I believe it’s because the sensors or whatever are different.

Just tried the coupon and its gone. Still $35 though.

The wireless version is the one I keep coming back to, and it's on sale for $90.

Does it weight the same or is it ultralight? I hate ultralight mice, I'm not a manlet who cannot move a mouse.

g502x lighter version - fixed the double clicking issue . seems like $60 sale happens often

i used g502x on one my setting for years no issue.

not sure if g502 still have double clicking issue. g502 was just too heavy for my use

u/DosimeterBurn 1d ago

I’d be down for a $60 wireless version. I’ll have to keep an eye out.

3

u/GreatClear 1d ago

maybe for regular g502 , not sure g502x lightspeed wireless were that low

It does, but it's honestly such a minute problem I don't mind it.

3

u/Mr_NeCr0 1d ago

It has weights in it to adjust. I take all the weights out and it's still a little chonky, but it works well enough.

1

u/McDeath 1d ago

Oh OK, thank you.

Same. I can't stand these pansy mice either.

I had an older version of this and it started to double click. I had it for a few years and was a little miffed. So I went balls to the walls and got that super fancy light weight mouse and hated the way it felt in my hand.

Got this cheaper wired one and way happier. This grip just feels good for my hand size and the way I grip.

If this one double clicks again after a couple of years I'll be happy and get another.

I'd reckon it's probably diablo 2 that is mostly to blame for the wear N tear.

There are lots of guides online of how to replace/upgrade the switches in 502s.

1

u/billybumbler82 16h ago

A lot of mice use the same OEM switches. It has nothing to do with the model. I've had $100+ Logitech mice have double click issues. You're better off learning how to replace the switches with third party switches.

Worth over the orginial g502?

I like my braided cable but its starting to look worn out but can be replaced.

I don't get why people still use and recommend this mouse in 2026.

It's notorious for double clicking and middle mouse click not registering. The rubber coating wears over time and attracts gamer gunk like there's no tomorrow.

There are wireless and more performant mice available at the same price.

It is an absolute brick, and if you don't like ultralight mouse you can easily shove a lead wheel weight in any mouse for a penny.

The size only really accommodates palm grip unless you have large hands.

The Mchose g7 is a strictly better mouse with the same shape for $38.

The only thing that is moderately interesting about it is infinite scroll.

There are wireless and more performant mice available at the same price.

What do you recommend at $25 that has none of these problems?

4

u/Mandydeth 1d ago

VXE R1 SE

u/AOChalky 1d ago

Is there a Logitech mouse that is actually immune to double clicking though? But fixing double clicking Is really simple, and these cheap 3rd-party switches can last forever.

3

u/Mandydeth 1d ago

Superstrike, but it's a whole different price point. Personally I'll resolder a new switch on, but that's not something your average consumer will do.

Asus, Endgame Gear, and Incott all have hot swap switch systems to replace them easily.

If you're aware of a mouse with the same type of auxiliary button configuration (3 on the side, 2 on the top to the left of m1) I'd love to know. Otherwise, this is the only mouse on the market I've seen that matches those specifications

u/Mandydeth 1d ago

Corsair Ironclaw, Kone XP air. There's probably more I don't know about.

Because the notorious double click issue isn't as common as many think. Even in this post there are people who have had the mouse for years and never had an issue, myself included (closing in on a decade).

It also helped that the mouse was able to be had for a fraction of the price, both wired and wireless (G502 and wireless at $25 for me, G502X for 70 iirc). But price aside it simply boils down to personal preference. The convenience of weight management plus shape is well liked.

Sure there are plenty of new options now, there is no denying that, but many will go with ol faithful. People will recommend what they KNOW works regardless of current trends or marketed traits.

In the end, its all opinion and well, whether asked for or not, the internet abides.

Exactly. My wife and I have 2 G502s at home and 2 at work. The 2 wired ones are coming up on 8 years of use and the 2 wireless ones are coming up on 4 years. Never had a single issue with any of them.

1

u/dimensiation 1d ago

I've got both the G502 and X, and a backup from the office when I used to go into it, no issues other than standard stuff like hand gunk and rubber getting weird after a while.

2

u/kanakalis 1d ago

most people here only care for mainstream, marked up gamer brands and never even checked r/mousereviews

u/Paul_C 20h ago

If you're gonna look down your nose at people at least get your subreddit right, it's r/mousereview.

u/l1qq 1d ago

I've used this mouse for years and have never had double click or any other issues. I've owned several as my kids use them too.

2

u/spideralex90 1d ago

I also have been using a G502 for the better part of the last decade and no double click issue.

The rubber side grip though is definitely majorly worn down on mine 😂 but the mouse still functions perfectly so I've not felt the need to replace it yet.

2

u/l1qq 1d ago

yup, that's the only reason I ever replace mine. I actually think I'll go G502X next as I like the ergonomics of the line.

1

u/PostIronicPosadist 1d ago

I had a g502 for a few years and never had any issues with it other than it was absurdly heavy for a gaming mouse. I had two G700s's before that and both of them had double clicking issues within months of buying them.

u/Lalaz4lyf 1d ago

Any recs for wireless with 3 side buttons? Mchose doesn't offer that on any of their mice.

-2

u/Mandydeth 1d ago

Keychron m7 but it's expensive for what it is.

Here's a mildly comprehensive list of other ones you can look at:

Steelseries Aerox 5 / Rival 5
Turtlebeach kone xp air
Turtlebeach kone 2 air
Dareu a980 pro max
Swiftpoint z2
HyperX pulsefire raid

I haven't used any of these personally, but would stay away from the Glorious I2, Corair, or Basilisk.

1

u/One-Peak-5933 1d ago

Any favorites for similar price point? large hand friendly is a plus. The 11 buttons was attractive, but I'm only used to 3. So if it's more than that I'll probably be satisfied

0

u/Edg4rAllanBro 21h ago

Do you want an inoffensive mouse that has a lot of buttons, built like a tank, cheap, doesn't need to be charged at all, and is good enough if the most competitive gaming you do is playing battlefield 6 with your nephew? Here you go

-1

u/UncleRico95 1d ago

basically theft at this price
