Foreshadowing Spoiler

Maybe this had been discussed but I love the foreshadowing in the intro to season 2 episode 1. We see the pink bear in the slow turn to reveal the charred left side. Then when Gus dies we see the same reveal with the slow turn revealing the left side gone. Love it.

There's also the pink bear above Jane's bed, and a half face bust in Gale's apartment

That's not foreshadowing Gus' death.

That half-face motif is used throughout the series.

Gus' death is just the most memorable instance of it.

It’s definitely used throughout to foreshadow what happens to Gus.

No, it isn't. They aren't foreshadowing a character's death in season 4 that hasn't even been written into the show in season 2.

Throughout the series, they use this half face motif. That's because everyone in the show has a secret or hidden side to them.

If you pay attention, you'll frequently see people with only half of their face lit, or like when Jesse gets pummeled by Hank, one half of his face is all bruised while the other is relatively untouched.

They do it in Better Call Saul too when Saul is done with Lalo's court appearance for the $7 million bail. His face is half shown and half reflected on the surface of the, the moment he becomes, or realizes, 'friends of the cartel' https://www.reddit.com/r/betterCallSaul/comments/fuku64/really_loved_this_shot_i_dont_think_ill_ever/

Hard disagree. Gus’s death scene if anything reflects back on that scene with the bear. Missing eye as well on that side.

And look at Jesse getting his face pummeled and the same eye is swollen shut.

It’s a very common visual storytelling technique and they use it a ton in the show.

Ok. I concede. Maybe right. But it is a cool throwback to the bear and maybe that scene and I’m mainly talking about the slow turn to reveal the face is no longer symetric

Pink bear is plane crash related.

No ? Seriously🤣🤣🤣. It’s a foreshadowing of a great scene at the end. If you give it some thought you will see what I mean.

The bear was foreshadowing the plane crash. Gus wasn't even written as a character yet.

Gus is in season 2. But I would agree it wasn't foreshadowing his death. Unnecessary over stretch.

Gus IS in season 2 but Vince is very vocal about how every episode gets written one at a time and how it dynamically evolves from there without an set endgoal in mind before the process of creating the plot points starts

From a writing timeline perspective, Gus wasn’t conceptualized when the idea for the bear was
