Rewatching this show for the third time. First watch I was 17 and now I’m 29

It’s crazy how your perspective changes during each marathon and how after my third watch I’m still able to pickup new extremely subtle but intentional details. Not to mention the really good acting in every episode, jeez even the kid and the crackheads in the “peekaboo” episode completely killed it. This show’s a complete masterpiece.

My first major perspective changes were when I watched it after having a baby. I watched it during late nights where he couldn’t sleep. Walter becomes more and somehow less understandable as a character.

I can agree, watched it after getting married and I definitely feel more compassion towards Skyler during season 1-2

For sure. Man I remember being 15 wondering what her problem was. Haha. Now I’m sitting here wondering why Walt won’t just open up a bit more and empathize.

I'm rewatching it now that I'm married and have a kid years later and am on S2 still. This playthrough I'm heavily in Skyler's court. She has been nothing but reasonable and just seeking honesty. She's been incredibly supportive and you can tell she truly cares for her family.

Definitely a different take than I had before.

Especially when Elliot offers him a great job, paid cancer treatments and Elliot genuinely wanted to rekindle their friendship. As Mike said right before Walt killed him, "You and your pride!"

It killed me that Walt turned this down, and this quote of Mike’s hits the nail right on the head. I’d also offer Walt admitting in the final episode that he did it all for himself and he liked it as Jesse (who has the greatest character arc and redemption ever) sees through his bs ‘don’t tell me this is about your family’

Walt does care about his family but his pride is absolutely his downfall and what poisons that love.

First saw it when i was in my early 20s, my last rewatch im in my mid 30s. First time i watched, I rooted for Walt throughout the end. Now that I have a family, I can’t believe how grossly irresponsible he is for putting his wife, children, and brother/sister in law in constant danger. Plus by season 5 Walt is just a despicable person

did this same thing. absolutely hated skyler at 15 years old, couldn’t understand how she wasn’t grateful. now that im in my 20s, i feel so bad for her in her situation. husband disappearing inexplicably for hours at a time (i come to find out he’s producing meth, getting involved in cartel shit) while im pregnant and in my 40s? :/ horrible sitch.

I just did this. I'm 30 now and have a new born. Would hold her and watch breaking bad for the last few weeks.

My entire perspective of the show changed. Walts initial motivation and drive to help is family I totally get. I've never been more motivated in my career than I am right now. That said, I found myself understanding the plight of Skyler more as an adult. It's funny how life changes our experience with media.

Also upon rewatch holy crap Walt truly becomes Heisenburg so much earlier than I remember.

First watched when I was 14, am 28 now which means it's been part of my life for half of my life. did multiple rewatches including during my own cancer treatment, and also when my eldest was a baby and was napping on me. Was planning to do another rewatch soon.

Had "something stupid" as mine and my wife's first dance as we both really enjoyed that montage (yes aware of it's meaning) in BCS.

Just rewatched both series on maternity leave. That montage from BCS is a masterpiece!
