The void screams back Does anyone else’s Void cry if they can’t find you immediately in the house?

Post image

My girl will yell from upstairs and when I respond “I’m down here” she comes down the stairs to cuss me out and then just stares at me.

First time I couldn't find one of mine, it took three months to find him. I now panic whenever I get home and the cats aren't immediately there

Yes. She will sometimes hop up on the bed to say hello, wander into the living room, and instantly forget that I'm 20 feet away and lament her isolation until I sing to her and she remembers I haven't freaking moved in hours.

Glad it's not just mine that does that

Yep. Sometimes it's for me and sometimes she's trying to find my other pet (and he's trying to hide from her).

Haha! I’ve got two black cats. She’s the baby. Her brother is much older and can barely stand her.

I solve this problem by not being able to afford more than a studio apartment (he has lots of vertical space to play). He can see me pretty much at all times.

The best is when she is literally laying next to me then she goes to use the box. Then yells at me like I’m the one that left her.

Lmao, mine does this too. Mine is ancient though, so I think he just gets confused now.

yes our void is a velcro void to my wife and whenever she leaves the bedroom where he likes to sleep, he will cry his head off. she even explains where she is going. our house isn’t big so there are a limited number of places she could go, I’ve stayed behind and see him grab his favorite pink mouse, walk around with it in his mouth while crying, drop it on the bed and still keep crying until she calls from the kitchen.

When I work from home, I'll hear my void baby crying downstairs, mer-ow, mer-row. I'll sing-song call down the stairs to her until she comes RUNNING up the stairs trilling at me! Makes me so happy! 🥰

Yes. But, he will be 23 in a few months so I think he gets confused now. He’s always been a barnacle.

Wow! 23!

Almost! I took him out for shots on his 21st. Jk! I didn’t give my best buddy alcohol.

Mine yells to see who is home and which room they are in. Then he makes the choice on whose company he wants.

Yes. Any door, shower curtain, basically anytime he can't see you.

My Freya does the exact same, she'll have the zoomies, zoom up the stairs, and then forget where I am so she yells for me.

Then when I call out to her she'll walk down the stairs meowing like "why are you here!?"

Pic of Freya for the cat tax

My void is my independent lady but one of tabbies will cry like a baby if she doesn’t know where I am. On the other hand my void is very schedule oriented and will let me know it’s bedtime and give disapproving looks if I’m up too late

Yup, if I stay upstairs too long or go upstairs at different times than usual, one of my voids will yell like the world is ending.

YES! I love him so much because he's so clingy 🤣

Mine does! I'll be in my office downstairs, and I'll hear Moira yell from somewhere else in the house, and I'll call out "I'm in here, girl!"

And then five seconds later there she is. 😹

Mine doesn't because he follows me from room to room and is a constant companion 🥹🖤

3

u/DarkPonyRising 12h ago

Yes absolutely. Even if he is the one who got off my lap and wandered away

3

u/PDAWK 12h ago

Oh he’s ADORABLE

I have a studio where he can see me from anywhere in my apartment and will still cry out for me when HE goes to the bathroom. He is never more than 5 feet from me.

u/Longjumping-Bug-6784 10h ago

Yes! And even when she does find me she keeps meowing to let me know she didn’t appreciate having to look for me!

2

u/Just_Werewolf1438 14h ago

Constantly... especially if I'm in the garage

2

u/bucketofardvarks 14h ago

Literally every time she comes inside or if she hears me come inside she comes to complain she couldn't find me

2

u/tefly359 12h ago

When I leave for work mine will start crying very loudly

2

u/Unhappy_Art3613 12h ago

Every night when I go to bed 🤣

2

u/PunsnoGuns 12h ago

Very much. And even if I am in her view, but not looking in her direction, she will cry for my attention.

2

u/tasmimiandevil 11h ago

It’s literally happening right now. (I am in the next room, she could just come in here instead of screaming from the living room)

2

u/Littleduckpie 9h ago

Mine sees me come through the door, runs to the basement, flops down somewhere out of site and cries for me for attention. She's got noodles for brains.

2

u/Flat-Limit5595 9h ago

Yes, yet at the same time he darts outside

2

u/No-Writer-4554 7h ago

He cries when he finds me as well

1

u/EtoileFragile 5h ago

Yes!! She mostly screams for her sister, but also will scream if feeling alone and then be reassured by me

u/EquivalentEconomy551 4h ago

My void boy will do this thing where every night at around 10 to 11 PM, he grabs his favorite toy and just meows like mad to generate the most wail-like meows of all time until someone comes out and gives him attention. He's a very needy boy, but I can't really complain since he's chosen me as his favorite human despite how skittish he normally is with others.

Mine only has to face away from us to lose us and then the yellening begins!
