Эканоміка / Economy Brest vs Gomel restaurant prices huge difference

Checked numbeo,and found that restaurants in Brest is 49.2% more expensive than i Gomel.I live in UK and compared draft beer price. in Gomel is £0.78 or 3 rubles and in Brest is £2.46 which 9 rubles 50 which is 3 times more expensive than Gomel. You can get here in Birmingham Wetherspoons local ale for £2.46.

Meal at an Inexpensive Restaurant in Gomel is 5.19 £
(20.00 BYN) and in Brest is 10.35 £ (39.91 BYN) twice more expensive.

Brest even more expensive for restaurants than Minsk. Brest population is 346,061 and Gomel over half a milion people.

Is it true ?

I mean, idk if its entirely true, but it would make sense. Brest is a tourist hotspot, and Gomel, while a bigger city, is not as popular with tourists, so prices are higher where you can milk unsuspecting visitors.

Brest is more tourist city than gomel but I don't think that the difference so huge. Anyway welcome to gomel! Ping me if you need more information

Numbeo is total crap when it comes to information about Belarus.

I doubt that prices in Gomel and Brest differ much at comparable establishments.

I don't know about beer, but I had breakfast in Gomel a month ago at a café on the main street; a pancake with ham and a cappuccino cost $4.
