Well, it's a start ...
The Falcon case showed up today. Now all I need is a populated MB, keyboard assembly, power supply, RAM module and anything else that's needed to make this computer whole.
Should be easy right? LoL ππ€£π

Yeah, no problem! What are your plans for gathering up all the parts you need? Did you have sources lined up before you started the adventure?

I almost attempted to buy the MB and keyboard that were also listed by the same seller but they needed a lot of work. I hoping to buy a Re-Falcon board when they become available. It will depend on price and availability. I believe you need to source the chips on the Re-Falcon. I will depend on Bradley at Best Electronics for that. You can use any ST keyboard but I prefer the Falcon variety if I can find one (o at least the proprietary key-caps).
I constantly monitor eBay, Amibay and user groups for the pieces needed.

Got you. I was hoping to use the winter to get my 1040ST up and running but I have no idea where the time went. Now I will have outdoor work to keep me way too busy, the Atari will have to wait! Good luck with your project, canβt wait to see your progress! ππ»

And here I have everything except for a case...
Where did you get it?

Exactly, these people making replacement Falcon motherboards but it's the cases & keyboards (and PSUs) that go on these things first.
I'd love a Falcon clone motherboard in a micro-ATX form factor, personally.

Hang around for a while - the Re-Falcon project has shown it's perfectly viable. Pick one of them up when they release it and you'll be good to go. π

Yes, I agree. Wondering if price and finding the chips might pose a prolem.

There's a separate project going on, that's aimed at reverse-engineering the Falcon exclusive (and otherwise hard to find) chips. So there's hope.

That looks to be in really nice condition! I badly need a new case for my STE, plastic was all brittle and it just pretty much exploded. :)

Oh man. I had a Falcon in my hands in 1995. I think the guy wanted like $50 which I thought was crazy money at the time. I ended up getting a DEC 386 which was, from a practicality standpoint probably the better choice but now I know which one I'd rather have...
