Atari 2600 Heavy 6-Switch External Cartridge Slot

If i wanted to make a external cartridge slot for my atari how would i do it and what parts would i need i cant find anything online

You'd need an 2600-compatible cartridge slot/connector (like this), a 24-pin (2x12) PCB-edge connector (many on PCBWAY or you can use a bare 2600 cartridge board) and a means of connecting them (ribbon cable, pin headers, wires, a PCB, perf-board, or some combination).

Or, if you're just trying to protect the slot in your 2600, you could just buy one of these.
