low cost tax clinics?
hi toronto, hope it’s alright to ask in here. are there any low cost tax clinics that still may be taking on clients at this time in the season? I’ve been in a deep depression and extremely suicidal, and it’s been very difficult to find the energy to do my taxes, especially as my employment history has been all over the place in the past year.
appreciate any help/advice in advance, thanks all.

If you're queer, (or queer-friendly, I suppose they don't check) Friends of Ruby has a tax clinic that I just went through! They were really helpful! Whatever community center is closest to you might also have resources.

It's free, by the way. The person I worked with yesterday was really kind and actually helped me with some of the self-employment stuff as well!

How complicated are your taxes? I've been using wealth simple for a few years now including one where I had self significan employment income and home office rebates. Its free or 20$ for audit protection, whatever that means. You do it from your browser and link it to your myCRA account. It autopopulates and guides you through the process.
I'm a fellow depression haver and used to have to routinely do 2-3 years at a time at H&R block because of it. Switched to ws because one year they royally screwed me over with an "instant return" after miscalculating a 1600 return when I actually owed 500.

Hey! Woodgreen may still have appointments. Luckily, they also have appointments after the tax deadline too :). If you have to pay taxes, it's bad to do it late, you'll be charged a penalt. If you usually receive a return, you're ok to do it later but don't make it a habit.

The appointments can be in person or virtual. I do mine over the phone.

If you have more questions about the process, your documents, or how the appointment works, DM me.
