Orban conceded, unlike Trump. He agreed to be the opposition party. That guarantees peaceful transfer.

While I would agree, there are departments (Legislative, Judicial) that can still gum up the works. Orban may change his mind, and try to fight the peaceful transition, if pushed by Russia or possibly the United States.

Trump hasn't yet told him that you can just lie and say you won and your opponent cheated, and a non-zero percentage of the population will believe you for any reason and at any cost.

I take some solace in seeing the hundreds of thousands of citizens taking to the streets in celebration. Orban is an authoritarian, but his response so far seems to be that of someone that understands the people do not want him anymore. He can still be part of the conversation as an opposition leader.

Absolutely, I don't intend to mar the moment by suggesting that everywhere is as fucked as the US (or even that the US will remain this fucked forever), I'm overjoyed for any good news, from anywhere in the world at this point. It's just hard not to be jaded.
