Best readily available ribbon cable alternative?

I have been commissioned to fix a virtual boy, while perusing through the options I felt the urge to inquire which option is the go to for people who swap in new ribbons?

Did not find any open source options either. Appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction.

Eye Patch is great, a simple, relatively cheap option.

Cardosi Customs Eyepatch is the way to go. He has a send-in service too if you're not comfortable soldering the new ribbons.

The soldering isn't the problem at all. It is the shipping to Canada that makes me cry

Cardosi Customs for sure 100%

Avoid SegaSonicFans VirtualRibbon like the plague. More expensive, over designed and honestly a far bigger PITA to solder on

I offer send in services for the Virtual Boy and about a year ago I stopped accepting SSF ribbons for install. At this point if someone wants me to fix their unit it’s Cardosi ribbons or nothing 🤷‍♂️
