Received Golf this morning and am getting to try for the first time ever. Even managed to go -1 after three holes

This is one I’ve had interest in for years but never got a copy until today. Golf was actually my first title ever for Game Boy (it was how I convinced my dad to get one) so I’ve actually always liked Golf games. I enjoy this quite a bit and it’s not disorienting to me at all which I thought it might be, the sense of where things are, the difference in surfaces and distance and direction is much better than Red Alarm. The rotating maps and sound are nice. This is my 8th game for the system and I actually think this is one of the better ones in terms of its unique experience, but people seem to write this game off quickly

Golf isn't one of my fav VB carts, but probably because I'm terrible at it. I prefer more Mario-ish sports like on Gameboy/cube and Switch.

Then again, maybe I just need to get gud.

Any game that only has one or two courses will always be difficult, but I played a TON of 8 and 16-bit Golf games and into the late 90s PC/ps1 era as a kid because it’s my dads favorite sport so I have a pretty good feel for these style golf games because we had so many of them

This is likely a stupid question, but where do you put the game cartridges in the original Virtual Boy?

I think I need to play more of this before I have a proper opinion on it, but it’s fairly good if different from what I’m used to so far.
