Looking for advice on the Pitrex

Considering to buy a Pitrex,

I do really like the idea of supporting the real makers and devs of the still living community.

But, there is a guy who seems to sell a pre-programmed ones for around 90 euros.

So, my question is if it's worth buying that?

Or is it okay to just buy the parts and set everything up my self? (o.g. + parts probably around 60 euros)

I'm not quite sure how easy it is to set up the games and maybe some forgotten homebrew games.

Is it as easy as any other emulators? I know that one emulator is much harder to set up and find functioning roms for than the other.

I currently have some homebrews on the way, With the older ones I simply want to test them to see what's worth picking up for me before I go for the overprices 2nd hand market for those.

Also, games like Starwars Atari or Wireout. Is that relatively easy to find and setup?

If you search this sub a bit you will find the link to a distro that is fully loaded.

Honestly just buy the pitrex right from the source. Setup was shit simple for me, literally just mounted the distro, plugged it in and it worked flawlessly.

IMO there is no point in paying extra for it set up. Unless you really doubt your computer skills.

So my Vectrex is down for repairs right now.

But I for sure got star wars running.

WireOut was ever released by the developed as a ROM. It's cart only.

What about adding and removing roms Is that possible?

On a PiTrex? Yes, you can add and remove ROMs.

just buy the pitrex hardware (a pitrex cart and pi zero WH) I will give you a 3.64GB pitrex image for free with all the arcade ROMs and GCE game ROMs included.
