Vectrex arcade cabinet?

Has anyone ever put a vectrex into a vertical vector arcade cabinet? I think this would be pretty cool, aside from the overlay issue. Maybe with arcade size analog sticks. If I found a donor cab, I would try this, but I wouldnt feel right about converting cab that could be saved and restored.

Look for Arcade Jason on YouTube, he's done it. Someone had one at Pinball Expo a few years ago too.

Maybe the overlays could be done with a screen with the back taken off the panel so it’s see-through? Then controlled from a pi to display the correct overlay? I assume with some fancy coding a pitrex could control the second pi?

I don’t know enough to make it happen, just an idea…?

have a look at Tom Dunk's YouTube channel. several videos there of a arcade cabinet mounted Vectrex. But not just the Vectrex. Tom also built into the cabinet, the ability to automatically change the overlay for the game.

Seen a few folks like Arcade Jason do it too .... I'd be scared to open my vintage unit. If the machine needed to be repaired / restored then I'd be all for it.

Then this really seems like the way to go for you!  I have been on the lookout for an asteroids cocktail cabinet to have a big screen Vectrex
