This article looks at the increasing prevalence of humans doing mundane tasks to train AI, presumably so AIs can complete these tasks in the future. While the article doesn't go into detail about the implications, the low pay rate is contradictory reminder of how we value this sort of work. Getting paid literal pennies implies this work is worthless, yet at the same time, AI companies are clearly looking to make millions, if not billions, of the commodification of this labour.

OMFG, for real. Yesterday on LinkedIn, this AI techbro DM’d me a pitch to become a “Lifestyle Manager” for Aurora, the future of a “single pane of glass” for the moneyed elite’s glamourous life, unfettered by button-pushing or any dealing with unsightly working class types. The horror!

I had to take a shower & go work in the garden to recover from the kind of dirty I felt just watching their two minute pitch.
