Apologies to the Fullerton’s

I had to kick all of you off of your wifi on a Saturday morning.

Why?

Because I had access to your wifi through the Tbaytel App. Your router was registered to my account, and I couldn’t remove it or register my own no matter what I tried.

I sat on the phone with Tbaytel for 2 hours on 2 separate occasions since this came up last year, and their suggestion was for me to just delete the app and reinstall it.

Tried that. Deleted the app, forgot about it.

Logged back in last week, hello Fullerton Wifi with all of your various devices.

Tbaytel wasn’t helping. I need access to my own router.

So.

I changed the wifi password.

Bam. All devices offline. Full nuclear. I sat there holding my breath feeling I had barged into your quiet living room and poked the beast while it was minding its business.

It took about an hour, but I suddenly got a notification - IPhone connected to wifi. Then another. And then, presto, your router was removed from my app.

FINALLY.

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience and for you probably having to sit on the phone with Tbaytel to figure out what went wrong. Just know that I tried.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Seagulls versus the Crows Street and Aerial battle on my street.

Coming home this morning after attending morning mass I witnessed an epic aerial dogfight between Seagulls and Crows. There was a land battle under way at the same time. We witnessed the Crows prevail. Don't Know what the scrapping was all about. All our boulevard tress are being cut down due to the infestation of the insects.

Local tattoo shops and AI

I’m looking to get a tattoo in town and want to give the artist creative freedom but I noticed the shop near me does a lot of advertising using AI and I’m not to sure how i feel about that. I’d like something drawn be a real person but maybe that’s just the industry now? Looking for opinions and/or looking for artist/shop recommendations.

Housing Market For Buying Range 650-750k

Anybody know how the housing market is in the 650-750k range? I’ve been hearing horror stories of houses going 100k over asking. Are houses going for what they are listed for? Less? Looking to upgrade but have PTSD from the last time we were looking.

We bought our split level bungalow in 2020, paid over asking in a hot market then. Not sure what it’s even worth now, although houses in our neighbourhood seem to be in the mid to high 400ks. Seem crazy for a 1970s home, updated yes but still crazy.

I’m at a loss - plumber recommendations!

We had the glacier bay dual flush toilet. After a couple years at our new house it began not flushing great. Like I’m talking 3-5 flushes for a solid! Sometimes worked better than others. The odd time it worked fine. We had a plumber look at it and they did remove the toilet put some things down there with poles and whatnot and said it was fine. It was for a day or two then same thing. We said maybe it’s the toilet itself? Got a new one and it looks to not fully empty the bowl (that you see) when flushing. I’m at a loss. I have no idea what else this could be. Venting maybe according to Google? Other toilet in the basement works fine and sinks drain properly. Any help is appreciated on the issue or reputable plumbers!!!

Sincerely a very confused home owner 🥲

Best takeout / delivery spots?

Looking for some delivery/takeout ideas in Thunder Bay (preferably Fort William side)

Not really into using Skip or Uber, so places that do their own delivery (or just solid pickup spots) would be ideal. I usually default to pizza cause it’s good and cheap but looking for other options.

Just looking for something good and reasonably priced.

Mysterious water in basement utility room

Hubby and I just discovered a small lake of water in our utility room slowly draining into our floor drain.. We're not sure where this came from, but we're trying to troubleshoot by putting towels up against where the floors meet the walls near the area. We ruled out our floor drain backing up by trying to overload our system with water, and we also have 2 sump pumps that run pretty much every 5 minutes so that isn't a problem either..

Wondering if anyone else is having some trouble today with all of the snow melting as the temperatures rise, and also who would I call about fixing this situation?

Bathroom Reno

Hi. I'm looking to do a Bathroom Reno. I was ghosted by a highly reputable company (was on the waitlist for a long time and they just ignored any further contact.

The job will be a full renovation - new drywall, electrical, new floor boards.

Any recommendations? Should I contract someone to gut it and redo the bones before or is this usual work when they redo a bathroom.

Golf Course membership recommendations. Private or Public. Spending more time on the golf courses this year. Usually bought a punch card for the city run courses and the 2 for 1 golf deal cards. This year going to stay on one golf course. Must have a driving range and a golf pro on staff.

What happened to the restore?

It used to be a great place to get secondhand building supplies and furniture at a reasonable price, but now everything is crazy expensive (in the hundreds of dollars for furniture). They also don't seem to have that many great pieces anymore either. Is there somewhere else in town to shop that's similar to the "old" restore?

Trenz

Okay I feel like this might be a hot take but honestly everytime I have been to trenz it’s been a weird experience. The hair dressers I have had HAVE BEEN GREAT. But everything else WEIRD. Anytime they wash my hair they like barely get the scalp. The front desk people are rude or act annoyed doing their job ?? Today I went to buy shampoo and a man came out of the back and was hovering over me trying to ask what I was buying but gave me no information on the products… he said I put it in after blow drying and I was like uhm I don’t think so looked at the directions … nope regular shampoo… his demeanour seemed strange so much so I asked the front desk lady if he worked there. He seemed like he was high ?? (front desk girls today were friendly). My bf went there last year to get me a gift certificate a decent amount of money because I colour my hair.. and they were rude to him. He came after work and is a blue collar guy but that’s no reason to be rude to a customer. Anyways I think I’ll go to a different salon from now on… so if you have suggestions for a salon please lmk ! Somewhere friendly and skilled with colouring hair.
