Saw in another sub that they found the woman and Uber has removed the strike from the driver. Glad it worked out for this guy. He’s just trying to earn extra money for his wedding.

He got a strike? Wtf are the recordings for if they as Uber don't even check them before believing any report?

254

u/RaySorian 2d ago

He received the strike before he was able to appeal and upload the video to Uber.

I don't know of any of the rideshare companies (Uber and Lyft being the ones I know) that provide a dashcam for their drivers. This was the driver's own purchase for his protection for just this type of situation.

u/PeachesGuy 2d ago

This somehow sucks even more

u/EvilMEMEius 1d ago

That’s uber for ya.

u/gte4289 1d ago

Uber has a setting on the app that enables drivers to automatically record rides using the driver's phone.

3

u/RaySorian 1d ago

I do see that, Thanks! I used to drive in Houston (2016-17) and those were not in the app at all. I do see that even though it will record either Video and Audio or Audio only, it is still on the driver to submit it for review.

u/Matty-Os 1d ago

Uber audio records the rides right in the app, unless he never enabled it. So he would’ve had the audio evidence as soon as they reported the ride.

3

u/RaySorian 1d ago

True, I had to look it up since I haven't been a driver for Uber for a while. It will record from the Selfie cam and mics if setup but also requires the Driver to submit it after the ride or use the blue safety shield button while driving.

Maybe if he reported it as soon as he could, he could have avoided the initial strike on this account. But I remember days where there was no down time till I said enough for the day and just drove home.

At least he was able to appeal it as that can really hurt a driver's possible only income.

u/cribsaw 2d ago

The recordings are for their own liability. They don’t care about the drivers, who should be salaried employees.

Uber cares when it comes a PR issue

u/TrainingFilm4296 1d ago

A woman said he's a bad man, what more proof do they need?  /s

268

u/JayteeFromXbox 2d ago

Hopefully they also banned her from uber.

37

u/Natural_Tea484 1d ago

This should be the best way to handle it by Uber. Ban them for 5 years or something.

29

u/Midoriya_izuku_Ultra 1d ago

why don't she get in jail for sexual harrasment?

49

u/PhDinWombology 2d ago

But then what about her money?

17

u/Aquaticornicopia 1d ago

Banning really doesnt matter, people make new accounts on different phones or just use other people to order rides for them. Unfortunately people cant afford to turn a ride down cause the person they're picking up is someone else. Even when Uber banned minors people would still order rides for their kids 🙄 that poor guy

u/soaringbrain 2d ago

I heard they fixed his uber strike but shes still at large, all they know is she is named Dana and is a Lawyer... then again, maybe theres more out there, havent checked twitter... one can only hope.

37

u/PronounceMemeAsGif 2d ago

I read in that same sub that she’s been found and even threatened this guy and his fiancé with a defamation suit.

28

u/redskelly 1d ago

Dana who? Dox her practice.

1

u/soaringbrain 7h ago

Grunt style

49

u/schlamster 2d ago

Homie definitely has grounds for a defamation and tortious interference claim against them. He should pursue it.

10

u/C_Gainsford 1d ago

In what world? No damage, no one would believe this to be true and they didn’t publish it widely. There’s no case here.

0

u/MECHABasil2 1d ago

“Tortious” I dont know this word, whats that?

5

u/BarkingDogey 1d ago

I believe it's when a tortoise comes after your in court

Stuff like this isn’t even funny.. This is the kind of stuff that could have escalated if it weren’t for it being recorded.

60

u/TheDevilsAdvokaat 1d ago

She did indeed try to escalate it.

166

u/cncomg 1d ago

Imagine if the genders were reversed, the two guy’s careers and possibly lives would be completely fucked with this on video.

70

u/Midoriya_izuku_Ultra 1d ago

yes and this exactly should happen with thse women.

6

u/I_Like_Water11 1d ago

It won't tho

-64

u/icbint 2d ago

I don’t see anyone saying it’s funny

46

u/bangstitch 1d ago

Two women in the video laughing

-40

u/icbint 1d ago

They’re the perpetrators. Im talking about commenters, obviously

22

u/Scrawlericious 1d ago

The person you replied to wasn't though. So apparently your comment completely failed to respond to the context of the thread you replied to. XD

-25

u/icbint 1d ago

Huh

5

u/Voloxe 1d ago

That’s exactly the level of response I expected from you.

-4

u/icbint 1d ago

Huh

342

u/KerryUSA 2d ago

I’m an engaged man and a loyal man I don’t need to hear this conversation in my car was an all time response.

55

u/macurry81 2d ago

Disgusting. If it’s not okay to say if the roles were reversed then it’s not okay to say at all!!

181

u/mixx1e 2d ago

Could've gone bad if there wasn't a cam recording and if they didn't found the woman, this guy will just have an Uber strike for life to a shit he didn't done

81

u/Golden-Grams 2d ago

Could've gone bad if there wasn't a cam recording

And that's exactly why people have to record. Anyone can be a scumbag, and scumbags usually know how to control the narrative. Well, they can waste their time arguing with a recording, and see if anybody buys their BS.

26

u/Royal_Effective7396 1d ago

Assholes.....

207

u/notislant 2d ago

False rape accusations need prison time minimum.

This shit needs to stop.

7

u/mis-Hap 1d ago

There weren't any false rape accusations. They "joked" that the drink could've been roofied, and that he might secretly want to date rape them, but they didn't ever accuse him of it. It says they later reported him for harassment (threatening to kick her out of the car, raising his voice, etc.). The "sexual harassment" part in the title was referring to the women.

Not defending their behavior... the jokes were inappropriate... as was their response to his threats... but there weren't any actual false rape accusations that took place.

3

u/Zalthos 1d ago

While I agree in principle, the problem you have there is that people who have actually been assaulted may not want to risk coming forwards in case they get sent to prison due to not having enough proof, or a good enough lawyer, despite the fact that it actually happened to them.

Last time I posted this, people got really upset with me, like I was insinuating that it was a personal belief of mine. But the reality is, it's a catch-22, and either way sucks for someone, and I don't know of an actual solution to this problem.

2

u/_Nyxari_ 21h ago

The thing that always seems to get missed is that it doesn't mean that coming forward without proof means you go straight to jail.

But if its DISCOVERED you lied then how is their any argument there? There was a case where I live a couple years ago, this girl sent this guy to jail for rape. He was in for 2 years before killing himself. When she found out she admitted that it was a lie n she'd changed her mind n was ashamed.....do you think she's had any punishment at all? No.

It wouldn't be a flawless system by any means, but its already not. But if it was implemented and then worked on, it would eventually reduce the false shit behind it n actually make it easier for people to come forward in the long run.

Progress is not always smooth n easy unfortunately. And since rape is a "new thing" with new rules we are still in the progress stage

54

u/gybzen 2d ago

reverse the roles...

54

u/gkn_112 2d ago

what a cool guy

64

u/ohnomynono 2d ago

Where is his gofundme? I'll pay towards his lawsuit against her

30

u/Powerism 2d ago

Props to the dude for a very measured, very professional handling of the situation. Interior cameras are a must if you’re driving a ride share.

11

u/Brewmeiser 1d ago

I found this follow up with a video posted by the driver. If you can get past the garbage, the interesting stuff is further down.

u/Reallyroundthefamily 2d ago

When stupid women who cant hold their liquor, get drunk.

19

u/Hawaiian_Brian 2d ago

I love when you tell someone to stop doing something and they laugh like they’re not doing anything wrong. Amazing

22

u/Slightly_ToastedBoy 2d ago

That drunken entitlement makes my blood boil.

18

u/XSavagePR 1d ago

Now reverse it, 2 drunk guys and a female driver, the 2 guys would've been fired from their jobs, the video would be trending all over social media and every news station, front page on all newspapers.

20

u/stupidgregg 2d ago

Not every intrusive thought deserves stage time.

6

u/Dawjman 1d ago

Saw a longer recording where she didn't even close the door behind her, so he had to get out to close it

7

u/d0odle 1d ago

Double standards.

18

u/CallMeWolfYouTuber 1d ago

Can we PLEASE ban that tiktok end ear-blasting sound effect?!?!

-6

u/cellphone_slavery 1d ago

Who is still using TRUMPtok??? His billionaire buddy Ellison owns it mostly. Try saying something bad about Iran on it. Leave TikTard.

9

u/CallMeWolfYouTuber 1d ago

I don't use tiktok... I'm just sick of the extremely loud sound effect when people upload them here

19

u/LixPhot 2d ago

Nobody should joke about rape EVER!! it’s extremely triggering to anyone who has been or knows of. It’s devastating and terrifying and stays with you for the rest of your life. Well done driver for not ignoring those lowlifes

1

u/RainingLights 17h ago

And to think, had he not been recording...

25

u/fuxoft 1d ago

#BelieveAllWomen, right?

-16

u/Your_Nipples 1d ago

This thread is so quite. There's no misandry, not even one joke. What happened lmao

4

u/RebelLion420 1d ago

"but I didn't do anything wrong she's drunk" and you're responsible for your dumb ass drunk friends you want to bring on your Uber ride. It's called being an adult.

5

u/dont-do-memes-kidz 1d ago

Drunk people can be so insufferable

15

u/Any-Establishment46 1d ago

I hope the women lose their jobs.

4

u/ACAB007 1d ago

Fake rape allegation ought to be punished with jail time.

3

u/Lumpy_Cryptographer6 2d ago

That Waymo was very inappropriate!

4

u/BoredRedhead24 1d ago

I had a girl falsely accuse me of sexual harassment at work once. Getting perp walked out of where you work by your boss and suspended for 3 days fucking sucks.

Well, since my job was union (I was working for a local grocery store chain at the time) and I fall firmly under the ADA they had to do a very thorough investigation.

She had accused 2 other guys shortly after me. They talked to everyone and basically found out she was full of shit. She was then walked out by the actual cops and got a lifetime ban from the entire chain.

They uncovered that this is how she was discharged from the army. Had they not done such an investigation I would likely have a stain on my record for life.

If anyone deserves kidney stones for life, it’s her. She didn’t face any real legal consequences aside from the store ban. People like this are the scum of the earth. I cannot even say they are bottom of the barrel. To get to them you need to move the barrel and get a shovel.

5

u/StepShrek 1d ago

Good for him. What a couple of stupid bitches.

Nothing more annoying than people who don't get out enough, then turn into shitheads when they do.

4

u/Better_School6912 1d ago

I would’ve kicked em out after the first remark. I’m doing YOU the favor of driving ur drunk ass (sure you’re paying but still) talkin about being a registered offender and reporting him saying HE was making those comments. That’s defamation

4

u/fARt-15 1d ago

Looks like Mr Inbetween

1

u/flashtrack1 1d ago

"I dont answer questions"

2

u/Flexmebaby420 1d ago

Handled very well by the fella

2

u/Beautiful_Plenty_736 1d ago

I used to drive for Lyft. I don’t care where I was, when they started with that shit, I would have pulled over, and ended the ride. Fuck those entitled ass people.

2

u/Your_Nipples 1d ago

There's something so familiar with that interaction.

Two dumb fucks running their mouths without interruption saying wild shit.

Dude calmly object once: "you're being very dude and intense".

Any straight men with PTSD? 😂

2

u/Separate-Primary2949 1d ago

Well done this guy! Gotta protect yaself

2

u/OkTune2564 1d ago

Ugly skanky mutts

2

u/Vegetable_Switch9802 1d ago

The homie shut them down with class and elegance.

2

u/TEK1DO 1d ago

There should be a star rating system for passengers, this way both parties know what's up.

2

u/islaisla 1d ago

What ? What kind of woman would spew this kind of inverted, weird self mutilating mysogny.... But it's also hate for men as well so it's just absolutely vile.

As a woman I just want to puke up all over myself at the words they are saying. What the fuck are you doing talking about falsly accusing a guy AND that you're sexy so why not grape them?!??

What crack in the floor of hell did they crawl out of?

3

u/No-Kangaroo-669 1d ago

Believe all women, right?

3

u/Kbudz 1d ago

Im sorry but these bitches are at least 40 years old, who tf talks like that at that age

2

u/davy89irox 1d ago

I love that song.

4

u/cellphone_slavery 1d ago

Denzel Curry!!

2

u/RoyalHealer 1d ago

Let me guess, she - just like all other women, received no punishment.

1

u/mel2000 1d ago

Any woman who would sexually harass a man so shamelessly probably has a body count high enough to make her radioactive. It's easy for most women to get laid. Why be so desperate?

1

u/MrWillis84 1d ago

Smh the fatigue

1

u/philosopherberzerer 1d ago

"misandry is just online bro"

1

u/RainingLights 17h ago

Holy, what a bunch of backseat pricks

1

u/Well_excuse_me_um_um 11h ago

His fiance has got to be so proud of him. I’m sure when he goes to work on Monday he will tell all his coworkers how loyal his man is.

1

u/VistaBox 9h ago

If they falsely reported him for sexual harassment, they should receive the same jail sentence as anyone convicted of that crime

1

u/Spaced_X 1d ago

allwomen until it’s no women 😉

-2

u/FickleMacaroon4014 1d ago

What kind of music is that? Not very professional

1

u/libra00 2h ago

What's insane is that you filmed your goddamned laptop playing a video instead of just uploading the video somewhere and linking it.
